the better plot would’ve been MORTY being the one working with evil morty on the side quote unquote undercover for rick even though evil morty knew from the start and def wouldn’t let him actually see or do shit. i feel like evil morty would allow this bc he’s so far removed from being a morty that in his head he rlly is just another rick… and well . naturally… ricks need a morty for one reason or another.

like if they rlly wanted a whole jealousy / homewrecker plot they could’ve had rick be like bs urself all you want but you only like him bc he’s basically a rick. which morty is obviously in denial abt but even evil morty agrees.

i can’t even tweak that episode into being somewhat good bc everything i just wrote doesn’t even satisfy me. it’s just so out of character and weird to have any of these dynamics 😭 like we have seen morty’s insecurity when it comes to their relationship but i think they were too ham-fisted with this episode .

my best alternative atm is evil morty and morty getting into a tiff abt rick not actually knowing morty all that much and rlly harping on abt how replaceable/disposable he rlly is. he bets they could switch places and he’d never know. obviously rick ends up being even more drunk than usual so he doesn’t recognize him which sends morty into a spiral.
