So there's this show. No one has watched it. A second season released just last year and it's dead in the water. Woe is me, not having a lot of material to indulge in, having checked most fanfics or fanarts that exist. So I'm gonna try to kick the hornet's nest a little, in a positive sense. Sharing some quick fanarts in an attempt to connect with other...uh.... pokerheads...? barracudas? You know what I think it's only fair that if there's a fandom at some point it'd be full of bullshitters.

Anyway. Sharing my art, spoilered for good measure. If you want to watch the show, do it ! It's pretty fun. If you like mystery dramas and quirky dumb scenarios. With lots of fun dialogue & the occasional recurring character coming back here and there.

Right before the end of mermay, I really wanted to bring back my oc Coraline from 2022.

Currently working on writing for a personal comic based on my previous halloween post, so I'm not drawing as much as I used to in the beginning of the year. That being said, animating this mermay sketch truly makes me want to get back to it. I'll probably work on various small animations, I have one in mind I started for last pride month, so I might continue it this year. I took quite some time on that sketch, so I'm also sharing it. I will definitely have to work on my in-betweening & cleanup processes, but for now I decided to take it easy and simply have fun !

Happy new year ! This year I have a lot of exciting things I want to do art-wise. I finally finished a dated rough I wanted to have as an animated looping icon of Solliuth, Klair & Neth, the Thorn Trio ! They're nicknamed thorn trio because they're a pain if the asses of....some people. I'm not saying anything else but they're definitely up to something.

I've been working on this one veeery on and off for almost a full year. Really ? 2023 was not as good as 2022 in terms of art I guess.

the little guy Solliuth !!! it's him. I've got a lot of roughs of him dating as far as 2015, the guy's old. Went through many, many iterations and I've had atleast 5 entirely different characters in his place.

In his first iteration, he was some edgy cool guy who managed to pull back the curtains of reality, kinda matrix-style. But instead of hope and community, all it brought him was isolation and the feeling of never belonging.

There was this funny other iteration in 2016 where he was some aristocratic-looking fantasy guy, greatly inspired by the Stanley Parable - he was called the Narrator in this idea. He also had a really cool mustache. This one is from 2016 v

I since completely separated this guy from Solliuth, as I started realizing that maybe having a bit of Focus was a great idea if I wanted to tell stories with him. So now he's just a regular guy, no reality-peeling shtick, no Narrating gimmick. This Narrator guy though....I might be bringing him back in my roster for.....newer, cooler purposes

Anyway, back to actual Solliuth ! Man, Narrators huh. They keep imprinting themselves onto the narrative don't they. Whatever. I still need to actually write down scripts about his misadventures, I have a lot of ideas as to what his story is about, I want to make it as good as possible.

I used to conceptualize him as a much more boring character, him being essentially the most main-protagonist-typed oc of mine I feel. He used to be somewhat evil, and......well he still is somewhat, but there's a lot of extra steps in his characterization I want to go through. He's kind of a mystery even to me, sometimes he looks chill, sometimes fucking intense, sometimes he's a good guy, sometimes a very bad one. It'll take a while before I manage to properly write him, and I can't wait.

I'll save all of that thinking to when I get to scripting his shit, although it's not in the plans yet. I have other projects (probably Cherrypick-focused) I want to work on, as well as a refsheet for a new (old) character I hope I'll be done with for this year's artfight. But to close off this post, here's a cool 2023 sketch of the man Solliuth. For whoever is reading this. You reached the end, and therefore are deserving of enjoying this one.

"Milan Koliya and the Federal Agency of Relentless Terror" Enjoy the thrilling magical adventures of Milan Koliya and her squad of Magic Teacher Collegues in their quest to Figuring Out How To Successfully Teach Arcane Arts To Children : Now With Ethical Considerations And Proper Psychological Care Throughout The Course ! As their last quest went to shit and one of their pupils opened a gateway to Linguistic Hell, they were confronted to a new scholarly challenge from a word demon : study and comprehend the confusingly adorable DOOM BEAST, and have one of their older students write down the intricacies of its time-folding mating process in their laughably limited human language before the end of the school year. Thanks to the Federal Agency of Relentless Terrors, Milan and her collegues Zeuhl & Scherzo already have some proper leads to deal with this hell-induced academic teaching ! And they might even meet a former sinister teacher whose contract was terminated due to teaching children deadly spells, and a former exiled student whose idea of magic was antitethical to the dark roots of wizard fascism going on in the wizarding world... Will Milan Koliya succeed in her quest ? Read Milan Koliya and the Federal Agency of Relentless Terror to know whether she and everyone she knows gets folded in time or not ! This title is just some simple fart joke I went and used to establish the silly & horrific tone I would use if I was actually writing this story. Who knows, maybe I might reuse those character for a comic or animation at some point ! I liked drawing them. Milan Koliya is a nice name for a magical witch lady, I'm not so sure for the other ones (I thought of Zeuhl for the green-top poison lady & Scherzo for the red-dress spellbook lady.)

Zeuhl, the sidekick on the left, is actually just a random character I drew for Inktober in 2018, but all grown up ! She was a student back then, and couldn't afford the materials to make magical liquid poison so she might have just cheated tests a few times by pouring in bleach & neon food colouring liquid. Yeah, the theme back then was "Poisonous". So, if it works it works you know. It definitely implies some great character arc where she was disliked by teachers for these "tricks", only for herself to become skilled enough to be a teacher herself.

Anyway, enjoy Halloween ! I am dropping this art a little late, but it's fine. I spent a bit of the night on it, it was fun to finally do another illustration, Halloween is a great inspiration for art. I love the horrors.

Merry Cherry !

Cherrypick celebrating christmas ! I made this illustration as part of an art challenge between friends where we had to draw our ocs in this specific christmas dress. Obviously, I had a lot of fun with it ! Dresses are great and it gives me a good reason to draw Cherrypick again. Since the first refsheet I made of them in 2020, they've been a major character of mine, probably the one character people think about when they think of my art.

It's definitely kind of weird since I've been drawing some of my ocs for a decade (specifically Neth, which I drew a lot since my early teenage years) but it's good to have gotten rid of the whole burnout nonsense, as well as getting more active on social media art-wise. Cherrypick is so fun to draw and share about !

I also doodled a "behind the scenes" thing for tumblr specifically because tumblr is a much better art platform than instagram ever was. Introducing Rinabelle, she took the picture of her gf while they were goofing off in the snow. She was technically already introduced in my previous post, but I didn't even have her name yet. Now it's confirmed ! Her name is Rinabelle. Rinabelle ! Rinabelle. It really rings a bell.

I have been thinking a lot about their dynamics this last month, too.

Cherrypick likes to dissect statements & ideas all the time, it's also part of their comedy. They're very straight forward and love to poke holes into people's assumptions of random things, because it allows them to talk and they absolutely love talking. So much so, that they often end up stuck on a specific element of the subject, forgetting all others.

Rinabelle, on the other hand, is more cryptic. She works with a lot of callbacks to previous specific situations, in life as well as in comedy. Her mind goes places very fast, especially fueled by nostalgia or regret. She talks much less but the things she says usually have several layers to them, and her lack of focus creates a shockingly wide perspective she lives with.

Okay so. I was definitely not going to come up with a homestuck fuschiablood fantroll in 2022, but it did eventually happen.

Soooo, here is Lestif Boojie, a very kind highblood who absolutely loves commenting on the latest fashion trends, nitpicking the outfits of lowbloods, and bragging about her close contacts in the Alternian High Fashion Milieu.

Despite her attitude one could easily describe as either : -"Mean-spirited in a stupid and visibly forced way", -"Vain to the point of self-satire, yet paradoxically fundamentally uninterested in the benefits of a good reputation",

or even :

-"Prime showcase of the vertical lusiiron theory applied to alternian classism, making unhinged elitism loop all the way back to baffling naïveté",

Mermay followup - I Like The Character So I'm Giving Her A Name And Shit, Here Is Coraline

Doing the Artfight this year and since I haven't added any characters since the time I actually made the account in 2020, I decided to add this one as a character. So yeah this is a cool improvized oc of mine now, lets fucking go.

I did something for mermay ! I didn't have the energy to make a lot of different drawings or mermaids even though I really like mermaids. So here's one (1) rough painting I did to relax in between stressful situations.

hey its homestuck day. so here are two fanarts i made respectively in 2019 and...well, right now. First, there's Vriska getting sucked up by the black hole, then, theres Feferi hanging out with fishes.

it's not a secret that the Epilogues were highly controversial for many reasons, including but not limited to the very liberal use of seemingly "punishing" narrative arcs for various fan-favorite characters, the approach being heavily worsened by a really intense flavor of mean-spirited cynicism. And here I'm mostly talking about Feferi Peixes, my favorite character of Homestuck. to act as a refresher, her only role in the Epilogues weren't to act upon her politically optimist characterization in the original comic (they used a canonized Obama for this instead), but to simply be sexually assaulted by Gamzee and Eridan as part of a joke about how redemption arcs are stupid and no one should expect the clown supremacist & incel wizard to become nice characters like they did in the fanon.

I get it, I really do. I never enjoyed these characters, especially Eridan since he was the most obvious stand-in for this toxic pathetic nazi character Hussie apparently really wanted to write about, killing Feferi after a duel with her friend Sollux, whom he was jealous about.

so. obviously, my favorite character got killed for not being in love with the incel back in 2011, and got brought back as a joke where she's being pressured to kiss her murderer. I'm not really happy about that. And even with that, I did enjoy the epilogues for what they were trying to do. Aside from absurd trigger warnings being used as a punchline, the AO3-like format was really well established as the translation of a future state of the Homestuck world that lost some of its "realness". It had an absolutely fantastic concept, treating John's main character syndrome after the end of the game, along with the doubt that this Earth C reality is even real because we never got to see English get beaten. All of this was great, the feeling of friends drifting away, even the political divides between them felt quite authentic.

Summertime anticipation

Yeah so, my old tumblr account was entirely shadowbanned in 2018 when I posted some heavily red-ish battle scene between two infamous brothers from some webcomic I am not going to talk about whatsoever. Tumblr probably thought the brown/beige palette contained some female presenting nipples instead of like, buildings on fire and imminently crashing meteores...Though the conservative mind processes these two very similarly I guess... I ended up giving up the account and stop going on tumblr for quite some time. But here we go, another attempt at sharing my art online !
