you’re sitting across from me in a shitty diner in anywhere, america, and i watch you pour too much creamer in your coffee and i think “i love you.” you look up, catching me staring, and for a moment i think i’m brave enough to say it, but i take too long and the moment passes. i take the balled up straw wraper and flick it at you, pretending that was my plan all along. you laugh. i never want to go another day without hearing that laugh. i think i will have all the time in the world to say it.

the thing about riverdale is there’s no endgame because riverdale is always iterating. it’s a high school drama ouroboros it tells the same story and different stories about the same people over and over and over again smashing them up into different pairs and situations to keep going and going and going. so you say well then isn’t it crazy that jughead and archie never kissed and the answer is actually no. because jughead’s the one writing the stories and he’s too afraid to be in love with his best friend so instead he deified him.

watching riverdale for the first time since i was like 15 and realising it’s so gay

so, we have a good portion of fics where jamie's either emotionally or outright physically cheating on tara with trevor which hey, that's wonderful, love that. but, give me trevor who's quite openly with a man-- well, maybe to close friends and family and within the nhl community, but to the larger public he isn't-- but he's still sleeping with jamie. jamie fucks him on roadtrips (and sometimes even at home) and then trevor goes home to his boyfriend (fiancé?) and they continue to play house, no one being the wiser. like it's a pretty badly kept secret on the flyers as well as amongst the ntdp that trevor's been cheating on his partner for a while, but what he doesn't know, doesn't hurt him, right? and jamie's not going to put a stop to it, not when he's at least got trevor in some capacity, he's at least in some way a part of trevor's life and he most definitely will continue to be whenever trevor gets married. trevor as far as he's concerned, jamie doesn't seem to have a problem with their arrangement, and his fiancé truly is none the wiser; it's truly in his book: a win-win situation.
