Once Scar finished changing back into his normal outfit, he ran back to Grian.

“Grian where have you been?” Scar asked, gently but firm, because he actually was worried. Grian’s wings went back to a bright purple.

“Around,” Grian muttered, still half asleep.

“I went out to get some stuff for soup and then you were gone!”

“Mhm,” Grian responded.

Shoot, I forgot to go buy some soup!

“Yah you can go get the stuff for soup, I’ll stay here I promise.”

“What?” Scar was very confused.

“You forgot to get stuff for soup, I'll stay here, don’t worry about me,” Grian moved on his bed.

“Okay, you sleep well, I’ll be back before you know it!” Scar went to open the door when it shut again. “What?” Scar said under his breath.

Then something hugged his back.

“Grian?”

“Don’t leave me like he did,” Grian murmured, nuzzling his head into Scar’s back.

Who?

“I won’t leave you forever, I’ll be back from the store,” Scar turned around and hugged Grian back, whose wings went over them and was that same familiar pink and then back to his normal red, yellow, blue pattern.

“BigB, he left me, if that answers your question,” Grian released Scar from the hug and his eyes were the same dark colour.

Oh…

“Okay, then, I’ll make it even quicker!” Scar said with his smile but spotted something on Grian’s desk out of the corners of his eye. A rock?—

“Okay,” Grian smiled softly, cutting off Scar’s thoughts.

I have a bigger problem to solve before I think about that. Scar shook his head slightly and started walking to the store.

// Time Skip when Pearl and Gem gets home | Gem and Pearl’s POV \\

Pearl unlocked the door and opened it quietly. Gem and her both saw Scar cooking in the kitchen, and Grian on the couch, watching TV.

“Hi?” Pearl was somewhat confused since Scar’s last message to her was that Grian’s power activated and Pearl and Gem were stressing so much they came home early.

“You’re early,” Grian put down his lemon-ginger tea on the table.

“We were worried,” Gem answered, taking off her shoes.

“Hi Pearl and Gem!” Scar waved from the kitchen.

“Hi Scar, what’cha making…?” Gem asked, while Pearl walked over to Grian to talk.

“Soup, got some from the store.”

“Okay, that’s very nice of you to cook for G,” Gem commented.

“It’s fine! I just want him to get better,” Scar turned off the stove.

“Just so you know, Grian is probably going to forget everything that happens after he gets better, his um, ‘powers’ do that to him, so if he did anything crazy or imaged something or anything, he will not remember,” Gem told him quietly.

“Oh. Okay, nothing crazy happened so no need to worry!” Scar whispered back.

“Okay good,” Gem exhaled a sigh of relief.

Pearl walked over, “Scar, did you see, Grian’s powers?”

“He can move things, wings and eyes turn purple, and can read minds??” Scar answer-asked.

“Yea, that, you’re not like totally freaked out?” Pearl was fidgeting again.

“No, of course not!” Scar said passionately but still quietly, “I actually really like his powers, it's cool and unique!”

“Oh thank goodness,” Gem was relieved again.

“Wait, did you get him out of it?” Pearl asked, mind circling about what happened.

“He like hugged me I guess and told me not to leave him like someone else did and when he let me go to the store, he was back to normal,” Scar thought back.

Oh my goodness he got him out of it. Gem and Pearl both thought looking at each other.

“But does Jimmy do the same thing? Is this an avian thing?” Scar asked, genuinely questioning it, starting up a new topic that has been playing in his mind for a while.

Gem and Pearl looked at each other and then Gem answered, “Not to my knowledge, no,” They both laughed a little, the tension in the air became a little more casual.

“Okay, that makes me not question everything now,” Scar laughed with them.

“Is the soup done?” Pearl asked, hungry.

“Yes it is! You can serve for Grian, I assume you know how much he eats?”

“Yah I can do it,” Pearl took some bowls out of the drawers and started serving Gem as Scar walked over next to Grian.

// Time Skip the end of last period \\

Grian looks super dizzy and unwell, but it’s the end of the school day so he can last a couple more minutes right? Gem thought.

The bell rang and the class walked out. Grian was wobbly when walking out the door.

“Does he look okay? Do I need Etho to get his car to drive G back?” Tango whispered into Gem’s ear.

“I think he’ll be okay, he probably just needs some time to walk around and get used to it?” Gem was giving Grian the benefit of the doubt when really she shouldn’t be.

But then Scar walked out of the class across, Mumbo and Pearl behind him, as Grian blacked out.

“Woah,” Scar caught Grian right before he hit the ground, and lifted him up under his arms.

“Grian!” Pearl ran to his side with Scar and Gem. Tango and Mumbo were talking about what to do.

“Grian!” Scar shook him.

“He probably passed out,” Pearl did a palm to the face.

Gem tapped Pearl’s shoulder rapidly.

“Purple,” Gem mumbled to her.

“Tango,” Pearl started, “We might need Etho’s car.”

“Oh no, it’s fine, I can carry him,” Scar chimed in.

“You can what?” Mumbo asked in disbelief.

“The car seems like a lot of trouble so it’s just easy if I can carry him,” Scar was already getting Grian up in his arms.

“Are you sure?” Tango already had his phone out to text his boyfriend.

“Yah, we live in the same building already, it’s no problem,” Scar shrugged with sleepy Grian and started walking.

Tango and Mumbo were still shocked but Pearl and Gem started walking with him and texting their extra curriculars that they were going to be late.

“Should we let Scar look after him?” Pearl asked Gem quietly.

“He is probably going to find out no matter what with what is happening between G and him,” Gem said back.

“I dunno, maybe Mumbo should do it, we can ask him right now,” Pearl was fidgeting.

“Hey, Mumbo?” Gem turned around to him and Tango chatted.

“What’s up?”

“Can you watch Grian?”

“I would love to but I have council starting soon and I’m going to get there late,” Mumbo pulled out his phone quickly to look at the time.

“Oh okay, no worries,” Gem turned back to Pearl, “Scar’s our best bet.”

“What about me?” Scar looked back at them.

“Can you watch over sick Grian?” Pearl started, “I know it’s a lot to ask but we all have extra curriculars after school to do.”

“Oh, no problem, I'm free the rest of the day!”

“That’s great!” Gem exclaimed somewhat quietly.

“I’m gonna go walk back to Etho’s, hope Grian’s gonna be alright,” Tango said walking out.

“Bye!” They all said, the elevator opening.

Once they got into their apartment, Pearl and Gem told Scar where everything was and then left in a hurry to go back to their after school activities.

// Scar’s POV \\

What ever am I going to do with you? Scar thought as he looked at Grian’s curled up sleeping pose, unable to put a cold towel over him to cool his temp.

Scar thought that he looked so cute, wings over him like an egg shell, that he didn’t notice that his wings were purple and not the rainbow they normally are.

What is this? Scar went to touch them but stopped when Grian moved.

Not the problem right now! Scar turned Grian slightly to put the cold towel on his forehead and then started making some soup for him.

Oh no, they don’t have stuff I need to make it! Right as Scar was going to go call a delivery, his phone rang.

Ugh, what is it now?

“It’s another emergency, go to this place I just sent,” Cub started.

“I can’t Cub, I have a sick friend I have to look over,” Scar pleaded.

“Team Treebark is doing something else, you’re the last person left,” Cub demanded.

“Fine, fine what am I doing?”

“Wels needs you at the comms.”

“Okay okay give me ten I’ll be there,” Scar hung up with an exasperated sigh.

Scar took the spare key and wrote a note for Grian on his door.

// Time Skip after Hotguy’s mission | Hotguy’s POV \\

I’ll go check on Grian at his place before I change out, he is probably still asleep since it hasn’t even been an hour yet.

Hotguy landed on the roof and jumped down to Grian’s place.

Is no one here? My heat sensors aren’t saying anything here but Tilly and the other cats.

“Grian?” Scar shouted a little. But there was no response.

“Shoot shoot shoot! Where is he?!” Hotguy ran outside and locked the door, shooting his arrow from roof to roof to find him.

Where could he be? Hotguy repeated in his head again and again.

Then he found him wandering the streets, window shopping?

What is he doing?

When Hotguy got a view behind him, he saw he was acting… Drunk.

What the…?

Then something on the shelf floated, or rather, he lifted something on the shelf.

“G,” Hotguy tapped his shoulder.

“What Scar?” Grian looked dreamy into his eyes. But there was no pupil, instead a broken rectangle?

Scar? Why– What– How–

Hotguy grabbed Grian and pulled him up onto a roof.

“Grian?” Hotguy breathed, “What did you say?”

“Scar,” Grian laughed, walking up to him, “I’m Cuteguy!”

“No you’re not, you’re crazy that’s what and I’m getting you home like your sister Pearl called me in to do,” Hotguy grabbed Grian again and brought him back to Pearl’s and his house.

“I’m gonna go and get Scar, who was supposed to be looking after you,” Hotguy was about to leave when Grian tugged his arm last minute.

“Don’t go,” Grian’s wings were a familiar shade of purple to pink.

Hotguy’s eyes widened but he stayed focused.

“I’m going to get Scar,” Hotguy patted Grian on the shoulder and his grip released.

I’m going to ask Pearl about this like right now.

Hotguy closed the door and started texting.
