Huge pet peeve of mine when I read fics about Laios is when they call him stupid or write him as an idiot. He's genuinely really smart,, he just has the social graces of a thumbtack. Like, canonically, hes very smart (series spoilers are blocked out :] )

GAAAAAAAHHHH THIS DRIVES ME UP THE WALL !!!!! somehow half of the fandom (maybe even more than half) has managed to dumb his character down to "blonde himbo who's stupid and eats everything he sees" . ???????????people read the manga / watch the anime with their eyes closed or something

laios' whole character is a subversion of the typical confident and social leader type . he IS a leader but he's not the best because he doesn't understand social interaction that well . but he DOES understand battling , strategic thinking , and his knowledge of monsters often help the party more often than not . his room is full of various books and he's a great reader (why the Hell do i see people talking about how Laios is too stupid to read) and he is so so knowledgeable on topics about animals and monsters and whatnot ..... ripping my hair out im so MAD !

"laios is just a weird monster freak who wants to eat everything" "laios would eat his own pets / his own pokemon" and somehow they miss the fact that laios is aware of everything dangerous about monsters hence why he doesn't hold back when fighting them + he kept kensuke because he grew attached to it as his pet and he didnt eat it + he had a pack of dogs he grew up with and he clearly values his pets + laios suggested eating monsters ONLY because he knew his party had no other resources and it was not only sustainable but it was free (which is why chilchuck was really quickly on board because he is also logical in his thinking) + Laios wants to Expand His Knowledge of monsters outside of just knowing their biology and traits and fighting styles etc. . He wants hands-on knowledge . He wants to know them through and through so he wants to eat them to fill that gap in his knowledge .

Fallout brainrot has consumed me. I have SO many fic ideas and like 0 time to write. I think a project im going to take on when my term finishes is rewriting my old fics. I want to keep the originals so on AO3 I'll just make a new chapter. One of the first ever fics I published online (that anyone needs to know about lol) was of Paladain Danse LOL times change so much hehe i was so infatuated with him because at the time i wanted to be in the military and be a police officer after (LMFAO CAN YOU IMAGINE???). That subtle Bethesda writing flew right over my little pea brain (though i always took issue with how they treated "nonhumans"). i suppose its indicitive of my ideas about authority at the time. Overall good with bad apples. Whelp, now im a little older and a lottle wiser and you couldnt pay me enough to go back to working around that field. Anyways, it was a sadder story but I don't think i wrote it as devastating as i can now. 18 year old me didn't have that emotional range yet hehe maybe ill make a little drawing with it too, who knows hehe
