Magical Arcane
Chapter 1
Cameron's point of view
The sun seemed to rise as it always has. The bright light coming through the window even with the curtain closed. The light always seemed brighter then it had intended. I could never figure out if it was trying to wake me from the depths of a shadow or just say hello.
I opened my eyes only for a second. The light burned, appearing way brighter than normal. The sun light always burned bright but when I was able to look away all I could see was starts in my eyes. It didn't take long before the faint knock on my door seemed to pull me from what ever trance I was in. Limping over to the door I opened it slowly. The tall figure stood in the doorway. I rolled my eyes and went back into the room, the figured followed.
"how is it that we are two years into collage and you still haven't figured out how to get up on time?" Alex asked.
He walked over to the coffee pot sitting in the desk and began to make coffee. "you know that morning an I are never on talking terms Alex." I stated while walking to my dresser to get a pair of clothes. "besides it's not even 5am why are you over here so damn soon" I stated turning to look at him.
"you know that its leg day, and we must get an early start if we are going to make it to class on time” Alex said pouring a cup of coffee into a thermos and handing it to me.
"Jordan meeting us there then?” I asked picking up my bag from the corner of the desk and following Alex out into the hallway of the dorms.
"I would assume so” Alex said looking over his shoulders at me.
I rolled my eyes as we walking down the hallway.
* * *
"Come on Cameron you can do this" Jordan said as he stood by my head.
The dumb-bar hanging over my head was getting uncomfortably close to my neck. My arms began to shake as the bar only began to feel heavier. I looked up to him for support. He smiled at me with lust in his eyes. Something in me clicked. My arms Stiffened more than I knew was even possible.
"See I told you" Jordan said, the smiling turning more into a smirk.
"You were going to let that bar come down on me weren't you" I said sitting up.
"I knew it wasn't going to, so I didn't need to set in" Jordan said looking at me.
"Are you two done arguing like a old married couple" Alex asked from across the gym.
"Are you done yelling across the gym like we are the only one's here?" Jordan and I asked at the same time.
We stayed have been at the gym for about an hour or soo before we all had enough. We walked into the locker room. All of us headed for a shower. This is the part of the work out that I enjoy. The heat from the shower washing away all of the stress and panic from the workout. There is something spiritual about it that I find comforting.
"Are you guys ready to get going? I can't afford to be late to class again" Alex stated.
"How is it that your the first one up and ready before either of us and yet your somehow always late?" Jordan asked as we opened the door of the gym.
Alex pointed to me. I gave a mock offended expression before Jordan looked over to me. I shook my head to him though we all knew that it was true. Jordan gave me a smirk again before laughing in Alex direction.
"You know that you could just leave without him right?" Jordan Explained.
"But then our little camwan wouldn't be able to find himself to class" Alex said in a babyish voice.
"I would too find my way, I would just be like two hours late" I said looking at them.
They both began to laugh at me. We walked down the sidewalk as the sun began to appear over the horizon. As much as I am not a morning person and I hate being up before the sun is. getting to watch the sun rise, when all of the colors began to appear over the sky and the building. There really isn't anything more beautiful then that.
"You guys know that we are gonna have to take a shortcut to make it in time" Alex said looking over his shoulder at me.
"Alex I swear to god, if your talking about that damn ally again I'm going focus all of this chaos on your skinny ass" I said looking at him.
Jordan and Alex began to dye from laughter. I stopped and looked at them. "And what are you too laughing about" I asked Semi annoyed.
"Cam your a lot of things" Jordan started, "But scary isn't the words that come to mind" Alex finished.
"I can be scary when I want to be" I said with a huff.
"Yeah maybe in the cute and cuddle way" Jordan said while looking between Alex and I.
"There you are white-lighter" A deep demonic voice stated from the shadows.
"did you guys hear that too?" I asked looking at them.
"Hear what?" They both asked.
"I heard a deep disturbing voice" I said while looking around the ally way.
"They can't hear me" The voice said again.
I began to look more troubled by the moment. My head looked like I was tweaking. I was scanning every inch of the ally trying to figure out where it was coming from.
"Cameron are you okay?" Alex asked walking up and putting his hand on my shoulder.
I shoved it off, Still looking around every corner and shadow. I was slightly surprised that my neck didn't break with how fast my vision snapped from one area to another. "Show yourself" I screamed.
Jordan ran over to us with concern written on his face. "Who are you talking too?" He asked kneeling in front of mean.
A thousand or so Black particles began to appear in front of us. a Shadowy figured began to appear from the inside out. A black smokey fog began to hug the figure. The particles began to disappear as a man in all black appear in front of us. Alex and Jordan turned around shocked.
"What the fuck is this" Alex asked before his mind truly could catch up with his thoughts.
"Found you" The Figure said as he began to raise a Crossbow to us.
