Autistic representation matters. Man I love Dylan Keogh
The dynamic between Dylan & Donna is so sweet though, they really have such a lovely chemistry.
Dylan’s storyline about Care abuse home wraps up next week (it is the end of the 12 weeks) and I just looked on Radio Times for all the cast list and Faith is top of the credits :(
Right I forgot it was Friday which means Metro newsletter.
And spoiler
“Max warns Dylan to give up the investigation into the abuse he thinks he’s uncovered in local care homes telling him it’s an ‘obsessive crusade’ linked to a tragic incident from the past.
I wasn’t actually expecting that.
Honestly ngl quite worried where this story might go

Robyn Miller and Dylan Keogh in S37E15 "Lost in Translation"
I dunno if it’s just me but storyline’s seem to have a much better flow and consistency to them with this (is it 10 or 12 week story arc). Dylan’s story hasn’t been the main story focused on in all 4 episodes so far, but because it plays a part in every episode and will throughout this arc it makes a huge difference - Stevie’s ongoing story has been very much the same. Rash’s story is getting a good amount of regular focus too.
It really does feel like we’re actually getting more bigger storylines going on at the same time, which I didn’t expect. And we’re definitely getting more patient storyline’s aren’t we?
I’m just really enjoying the show at the minute, a big improvement to some previous series.
When Dylan first joined it was obvious quite quickly how much he did really care about people but was scared to show it and seeing him over the years become a more comfortable showing it has been done so well.
And I love that the way he cares has always been and still is so incredibly genuine.
Me tuning in as Dylan’s just on screen
it’s crazy that people still try and argue that he’s not autistic, for some reason it’s much more obvious because it’s an improvised ep.

Rewatching last episode again, and I was honestly a bit confused as to why Ethan wanted to go for the Jac Naylor award because i didn’t think it sounded like something he’d want, but then realised Ethan is very aware his career will more and likely be cut short.
I wonder if even though Dylan hated the idea of the award and the best consultants going to a different hospital, he was more willing to put Ethan forward for that reason.
Dylan being like Stevie needs some people skills to be nominated for the Clinical Lead development opportunity is definitely 50% realistically being right and 50% him making an excuse.
Regardless of what Jac was like herself realistically Stevie probably wouldn’t be someone who’d be put forward for that, like if it was the other way round Dylan would probably be told the same thing. It just happens that Dylan has had to be CL due to circumstances/budgets rather than him going up against people in interviews ect ..
Then Dylan knows Stevie desperately wants to be Clinical lead, he’s somewhat aware Marcus is up to something and he knows his every move is being watched and scrutinised. He’s not particularly thrilled to be Clinical lead but he doesn’t want to lose it because he’ll feel like a failure and feel like he’s useless, something we’ve seen him really struggle with.
Stevie and Dylan are a threat to each other - one wants the position an other doesn’t want to lose.
Been rewatching Casualty and the Stevie saying that a Clinical lead should be ‘kind and tolerable’ and I’m pretty sure people skills/ emotional behaviour ect.. has been brought up about each other too.
And because we have Dylan who is Clinical Lead and Stevie who wants to be, that’s probably where most of the tension between them is coming from, they are projecting their own insecurities onto each other.
Only Dylan would walk like this and good for him
The way Marcus has subtly been turning everything around to make staff/boardrooms believe that Dylan’s letting the team down and isn’t doing enough isn’t talked about enough. We’re at the point where Dylan’s even believing it himself.

and the Iain and Faith storyline picking up again right as Dylan is struggling?
I’m starting to think all this could be connected..
Feel like I’m only one of a few not bothered if they get Faith and Iain together, the last thing Dylan needs is to be in another toxic relationship. And I’m not sure about the argument that the writers are not giving Dylan’s relationships a chance - surely it’s more to with the fact that something is very clearly going on that makes Dylan fall in love the way he does and end up in these types of relationships.
It’s strange seeing people think that simply putting Dylan in a relationship is the answer to all his issues and trauma, and he’ll be as happy as can be without realising that his past is actually having a huge impact on his relationships.
