It is an experimental work about the persistence of vision.
For example, when the blue is above the red, a thin white line appears between the two colors.
Red absorbs blue at its boundary (a darker shade therefore appears on the edge of the red) while blue cancels out red at its boundary (a lighter shade apperars on the edge of the blue).
This phenomenon, linked to simultaneous contrast, creates an area of ​​visual tension that can be perceived as a thin, clear line between the two colors.
