Spending Christmas eve with Rin Itoshi

“What do you mean you didn’t buy a present?!”, you yelled at Rin, mortified.

Your best friend, who was known for throwing the best Christmas parties every year, had invited you once again.

Of course, her being the popular girl that she was, she wasn’t exactly fond of Rin at first. In fact, she actually thought he was like .. really, REALLY strange.

Sure, he had the looks and all, but she kept insisting he was too emotionally unavailable.

You, on the other hand, were desperate to show Rin, who grew up only attending boring family dinners, what a real Christmas party looked like.

“Good lord, y/n!”, she shook you. “Alright, fine, whatever! I’ll invite him too, just .. just stand up!”, she sighed at the sight of you begging for your boring boyfriend to get an Invitation too. One thing about her was that she‘d never say no to you.

When you told Rin, he didn’t even try to act happy. Matter of fact, he actually insisted on staying home.

„What the hell is so special about Christmas anyway?“, he asked while getting ready for bed.

„it’s just a day. Why—", seeing your hurt puppy eyes made him pause.

„Rin, I really want you to go with me.“

That’s all it took.

He let out sigh. Everything in him screamed to refuse, but looking at you so upset, made his heart ache.

Rin hesitantly sat down next to you on the bed, scratching his neck. ".. fine. I’ll go with you.“

That was 1 week ago.

You reminded him over and over again to buy a Christmas present for your best friend throughout the week, but ..

well, we all know how that went.

You were pacing around the room, just absolutely horrified. It was already 7 pm, the stores closed at 8. Nevermind that— what store would even still have anything left on Christmas Eve!

”Why didn’t you buy a present like I asked you to, rinnie!“

“Why would I buy a present for an NPC I don’t even know.“, he scoffed. In his mind, you were the only one worth buying something for.

Well, to be honest, he didn’t care about holidays like at all. He was only doing this because it made you happy— and prevented you from giving him the silent treatment.

You stared at him, already thinking about whether or not to ignore him for the rest of the week.

Rin cursed internally, knowing that look all too well. He let out a long sigh, mumbling, “Get in the car“, while grabbing his keys.

As he turned around, you grabbed him by the ear and pulled him down.

“Rin, for your sake, you better start praying there are still things left on the shelves.“

Needless to say, he definitely had quite the interesting expression on his handsome face the whole car ride to the nearest mall.

People were running in and out frantically. Guess Rin wasn’t the only one that messed up.

He hurriedly took your hand and started moving.

“Hey—! Why are you going so fast?“, you ask, completely out of breath. Sometimes you forget that he’s one of Japan’s best soccer players.

“You don’t see these people? They’re gonna take everything before us if we don’t hurry up.“

And he was right. Every store was either already closed or had nothing left to offer.

You sighed loudly, already feeling tears swell up in your eyes. They didn’t have any time to spill, though, because Rin suddenly grabbed your arm and walked into some stuffed animal shop.

You sighed. Sure, it was cute that Rin was trying, but surely a stuffed animal shop would be all sold out on Christmas Eve.

”Hey, Rin. It’s okay, let’s just spend Christmas at Hom—”

”Do you guys have anything left?”, he interrupted, asking the old woman at the counter, who seemed to be the shop owner.

She scoffed. Her back was facing you and Rin.

“Look around, it’s Christmas Eve. Of course we don’t have—“, her eyes widened after she turned around.

“Oh my goodness! What a handsome young fella you are,” she chuckled. “Excuse me, what I meant was, we surely have something in the back still. Let me go check for you!”

Saying you were flabbergasted, completely speechless, would be an understatement.

Rin didn’t even bat an eye at her, his mind wandering off to whatever soccer players thought about.

”I’m not sure if I can say, but I’ll make an exception for you, handsome.”, she winked.

Disgusting.

“This is our newest teddy bear collection. They’re actually supposed to come out in two—“

”Lady, you talk a lot. We’ll take all of them, and make it fast.”, he turned around, clearly annoyed. Only then did she notice you standing next to him, looking very uncomfortable.

She looked you up and down, mumbling something incoherent and practically threw the bag at you after wrapping everything up. Who cares, at least you had a present for your best friend now!

While walking to his car in the snow, he squeezed your hand just a little tighter than usual. You swore you could see the corner of his lips slightly turn upwards.

— isagi Yoichi

“Hey!”, Isagi called out, his voice carrying a little more excitement than necessary. You, though, have known him long enough to notice the slight shaking in his voice, and how he stumbled over his words more than usual.

You chuckled a little, watching those familiar blue eyes wander around awkwardly. In truth, he had shown his face ages ago, often sending pictures of him holding trophies or medals anytime he’d win something. You, on the other hand, always felt too awkward. Ironic, since he’d always be the first person you’d text whenever something exciting happened.

It took him months to even get you on the phone. He’d ask questions about the dumbest things, just to hear your voice, so imagine his face when you finally turned on your camera.

He stared at your face for a while, which was getting hotter every second, completely starstrucked. “Isagi..”, you managed to mumble out.

“ .. so cute.”, he whispered a little too loudly, immediately covering his mouth. “I’m sorry! I’m so sorry!!”, he apologized over and over again, looking genuinely horrified.

You, again, couldn’t help but laugh. Needless to say, you definitely got an ego boost.

— Meguru Bachira

Bachira was always very .. vocal about what he wanted. He never hinted at wanting to FaceTime, he made it veeery clear he wanted to. “The Monster’s also curious! It tells me It wants to see you now, before It gets impatient..”, he’d say.

“Y/nnnnn?? Oh, hey there!!”, was the first thing he said after you picked up.

You rubbed your eyes, terrifyingly quiet. “Bachira, it is 3 in the morning. If you don’t tell me what’s so important in exactly 3 seconds, I’ll end you AND your monster.”.

“Hey, that’s not very nice!”, he giggled. “The monster told me that it wants to see you now!! It’ll get angry if it has to wait any longer.”, he laughed like it was the funniest thing in the world. You were THIS close to— .. oh okay, never mind! You did actually slam your phone against the wall. Well, at least tried to.

As if you weren’t angry enough, while lifting your arm, your phone fell out of your hand, making it drop to the floor. You felt your blood pressure rising by the second, actually considering just letting him stay there on the phone while going back to sleep. Little did you know, while picking up the phone, you would accidentally press on the camera button, which turned the camera on. Only after you faced your phone did you realize you had flashed your tired face, including your bed hair and chiikawa pyjama.

For once, Bachira went silent. Although not for long. He immediately started bombarding you with questions right after

“How dare you hide this face from me, you’re so selfish! You would cure Yukimiya’s blindness!!”.

None of you went to sleep that night.

— Seishiro Nagi

Surprise Surprise, you were actually the one mentioning wanting to face reveal.

Nagi being Nagi, obviously declined, saying it was a hassle. He wouldn’t gain anything from it, and just thought it was unnecessary.

“What do you mean “unnecessary” ?!”, you asked him through voice chat while playing some shooting game, kinda offended.

“Dunno .. can we just focus on the game? Talking’s a hassle ..”, he said lazily.

“Nagi, I’ll never help you with socialising ever again, if you don’t do this one thing for me!”. At this point you didn’t even care about the face reveal anymore. Your ego was hurt and that’s all you cared about.

He sighed, smart enough to know you’d just keep dragging it if he wouldn’t agree. Hesitantly, he turned on his camera, scratching his neck. Meanwhile you were still trying to convince Nagi, not even realizing he turned his camera on ages ago.

“Y/n.”, he called out, slightly annoyed. “You talk a lot. Would you just shut up.”.

“Who the heck are you telling to—!” .. you audibly gasped. Silenced. You didn’t even dare breathe, because what if the air would blow this hot guy away through the screen!? What if—!

“.. you there? Why didn’t you attack the enemy.”

Gulp. “.. wait, what..?

“You’re acting weird. I’ll turn off my cam—“

”NO!”

— Rin Itoshi

“.. what?”, you laughed awkwardly, fidgeting with your hands. Was there something in between your teeth? Why was Rin just staring at you?

He looked away almost immediately, clearing his throat. “Nothing. You just don’t look like your profile picture, that’s all”.

You felt your heart drop. “Oh. Sorry, I—“, .. hey, now hold on a minute. You have a cat as your profile picture!

“What do you mean “different”? I have my cat as my profile picture. Did you expect me to be a cat or something..”

“I mean, kind of? I don’t know!”, if only you knew how red Rin’s ears have gotten.

You blinked, processing his words. “Are you serious?”

”I just didn’t expect you to look like … that!!”

“Like what? Tell me now! If you think I’m ugly, at least say it to my face!”

Both of you were just going back and forth, until Rin said something that would haunt him for the rest of his life, and perhaps would be the best mistake he could’ve ever made .. in a way?

”No, what?! You look .. you look lukewarm, okay! You look OK!”. He groaned, burying his face into his hands. “.. you’re pretty.”. If only his hands were big enough to cover his whole face, including his bright red cheeks. Yeah, he’s definitely the youngest.

— Ryusei Shidou

“Yo, turn on your camera.”, Shidou smirked, knowing exactly how shy you were. “What, ya scared? Of ‘lil old me??”, he said mockingly.

It was obvious he was only wearing his boxers too, which he definitely made clear multiple times, and only got you feeling more anxious. Part of you felt a little more relaxed, knowing he was comfortable enough around you to only wear his boxers though. Good thing you don’t know he’s like this around everyone.

”Ryu, promise you wont laugh..!”

”Yeah yeah, whatever, cupcake.”

”Ryusei, promise me!”

He scoffs. “I swear on my lucky underwear, and daddy long lashes.”. He doesn’t know why you’re making such a big deal out of this. “Look, I’d love to bust a nut to your voice, but I gotta—“

You turned your camera on. As soon as Shidou laid his eyes on you, he burst out laughing, tears filling his eyes.

“You’re so fucking adorable! Ya look like a chipmunk!! Do I call you sweet cheeks now??”, he was dying of laughter.

You roll your eyes. Although for just a second, you swear you saw his eyes softening, and that answered all of your questions.

— Sae Itoshi

It was a Thursday afternoon, and you were bored out of your mind. Sae should be home from by practice now, right? You decided to test your luck, calling him.

“Hello?”. Sae was in the middle of a traffic jam. If it weren’t for your call, he probably would’ve fallen asleep.

You jumped, hearing his voice. “Sae, Hi!! Are you still at practice? Wait, obviously not .. I meant! .. Sorry, are you home yet?”, you blurt out, not expecting him to actually pick up.

He chuckled. Internally, of course. “No, not yet, but I can stay on the phone if that’s what you want..”,

”Yes, please! I’ve been wanting to tell you about this coworker—“

“.. under one condition.”, he interrupted. “You show me your face.”.

Who would’ve known that sae itoshi thought about you every day, and what you could might look like.

”.. well, that was random.”, and with just a tap on the camera icon, you were now face to face with him.

He just nodded. That’s it.

You smiled, continuing to talk about your annoying coworker, though something was off. You could physically feel him stare, like he was counting the amount of eyelashes you had.

Sae was so concentrated, he didn’t even hear the cars behind him honking and cursing at him. Whoops ..

— Michael Kaiser

“Kaiser, are you in Berlin next weekend?”, was the first thing you asked when he answered the phone.

“Wow, Good morning to you too. Why are you asking, love?”

”It’s not like that, Michael. I just so happen to be in Germany next week because of work.”, you rolled your eyes as he let out a laugh. To be honest, all you heard was the rustling of money, and the sound of a champagne bottle being opened.

”Oh, is that right? Well then, liebling, make sure they give you first class seats, or whatever. I wouldn’t know, I fly private.”

You scoff. Are all German’s like him?

“Anyways, will you finally let me see that face of yours? Or are you going to make me wait till you land and pick you up at the airport myself.”

You were about to argue, but he did have a point. He’s definitely not been subtle about wanting to finally see you. And since you’d probably meet him next week anyway, why not just show him. It’s not like it’s some big secret, you just refused because that’s the only thing you could do to piss him off.

While he was complaining about whatever made him mad this time, you turned on your camera.

“Bastard. Wenn ich ihn in die Finger kriege..”, kaiser mumbled. “You agree with me, right, Schatz—“, his eyes widened just a little, before his smug expression took over again.

“Ah, wasn’t that hard now, was it? After months of begging, my little blueberry cupcake muff—“

”MICHAEL!!”
