Due to the nature of capitalism and corporate interests (I'm not shaming this manhwa or nachioboy, i like a flaming trainwreck type storyline) that those in power could just weaponize people's desperation (like terminal illness in Milo, that'd make any desperate parent do anything to save them) like a Faustian bargain: We give a "cure" but you're forever attached to labor and/or making produce (like those yummy eggs and creamy milk!) so big corpos have more inventory to sell and profit from.
Even if it was scattered a bit between all the "scenes" we (and I do mean WE ALL) came for (or TO). Imagine a plotline with a hybrid/kemonomimi/furry revolution happen with gradual progress being made in terms of rights (not anything overnight since changes for rights and Quality of Life always take a while to manifest, after all, my country only made gay marriage legal about 11 years ago, and civil rights for folks my color were only technically won about 50-60ish years ago.)
Another idea would be the powers that be gradually; albeit begrudgingly, allow for more independence (maybe after certain riots or demonstrations, or hell, maybe even assassinations on neighboring offsites happen), so these freedoms might be permitted under some condition they still have to give produce to the corporations, but maybe they can provide the produce from the comfort of home and send/drop it off at the agricultural facility. Maybe they could also be paid a small(read: small) amount for their work until more negotiations get through, for better conditions for all Hybrid people. It's not like billion-dollar industries are known for generosity, even if the "generosity" in question is just paying the goddamn employees a livable wage.
NOTE: Remember, confirmed cases of hybridization led to people's records being expunged en masse. A major part of a working-class movement for equal rights would be an underground movement to help recover the information of those affected; be it voluntary like Milton risking it to save Milo's life, or someone unknowingly/unwillingly being 'infected'. Just this process alone would take years, even in a world where everything is digital, so rarely are things truly "lost." There would need to be technologically literate people, both Hybrid and non-Hybrid allies to attempt remedying this, while also being cautious with sensitive information.
Just the digital restoration process would take a while, but if some Hybrids were able to access a phone and internet; they can share their stories online. Their unconventional appearance might help boost virality, although that is a double-edged sword in terms of matters like government surveillance, censorship, or algorithmic suppression. Even if people are negative, the masses are entertained by people and things perceived as strange. The solution to this is to effectively make too much noise and outcry to be fully squashed or hidden. At some point, a couple news outlets (probably not so much traditional outlets, though. They can't even be honest with phrasing when war crimes occur on behalf of imperialist interest). Maybe some Hybrid people might choose to stay at the farm for their own personal reasons if any part of this rant went into canon (ie feeling like there's no life to go back to, fear of discrimination by wider society, etc).
There would also be people decrying any attempts at informing the public online as "AI slop." Heck, it might even lead to bad actors purposefully shitting out LLM-generated garbage to drown out sincere conversations and experiences on platforms. There's also the risk of being an easy target in public spaces, or even denied entry to careers you're qualified for because "your ears/tails/hooves/etc." are deliberately misrepresented as "scary" to the public. There would need to be laws that penalize hate crimes against Hybrids. After all, animal cruelty is frowned up, so logically to an extent, if the victim is (mostly)human it would follow at some point in time. It would only happen after aggressive pressure was applied by the public, especially when someone inevitably is injured or even murdered on basis of their Hybrid status. Regulations and Human(oid) rights clauses are written in blood, after all.
Let's face it; many aspects of corporate "culture" is straight bullshit we all tolerate since the food, shelter, rent, medical expenses, and utility bills don't pay for themselves. Companies can just get around anti-discriminatory ordinances by claiming "those ears and tail(which can be tucked away in most cases)" are unprofessional. In terms of abuses of power; harming livestock is seen as property damage. Harming a person is registered as assault, or hate crime if motive can be found. Many corporations would fight tooth, nail, and bruise to keep Hybrids in the "property/livestock" class as opposed to being legally recognized as an anthropomorphic diaspora. If hooves scratch up flooring, then special shoes might be developed by either a corporation seeking an additional customer base, or some random startup being run out of someone's garage. Same for special hats, clothing, and accessories to conceal these identifiers. After all, you might not want your tail and long ears out near heavy machinery.
This also begs another issue; companies and corporations only embracing the idea of liberated Hybrids when they realize it's more profitable to sell goods, clothing, and accessories meant to suppress the inhuman features. After all, even conglomerates have to dream up new ways to keep the lights on, even if(when) it's clearly questionable at best, or unethical at worst.
The universal constant across Hybrid diaspora (that we know of so far). They all possess "both sets" of reproductive characteristics. This could affect how they are legally registered on paper, especially in regions with more restrictive views on gender expression and classification. You may have been a biological man before Hybridization, but now you have ovaries+vulva, and a unit that's varying degrees of strange looking. Some Hybrids may avoid going to see a doctor, even for serious things if they're afraid of being perceived the wrong way. Medical professionals are supposed to uphold the Hippocratic oath and do good, but what if one doesn't? After all, some doctors mistreat fully human patients, so what could possibly go wrong if a sleazier person in a white coat has a Hybrid patient in the palm of their hands?
The livestock classification might also stay purely off fear-mongering about the hermaphroditic nature of Hybrids. Their unusual anatomy in the most general sense possible would be so quickly weaponized to stoke certain parts of the public's worst tendencies. They might be segregated from certain spaces just off appearance alone. What happens when you aren't allowed access to either bathroom, even if you visually match one to a T save for the aforementioned "secondary set"? Do you just use single-occupant bathrooms or just wait until you get home? What if a Hybrid ends up in an area with obvious anti-Hybrid signage, or displays saying they're prohibited even from the most common public spaces? They'd have to navigate stores, workplaces, religious establishments, gyms, parks, universities, and schools to find less hostile places to exist and contribute to society in peace.
And some Hybrids, like Bovine and other variants sharing DNA with large animals are probably just damn-near guaranteed to produce "scary-looking" people. Wider builds, be it muscle and/or fat, and also the potential for a height boost and change in mannerisms. None of these things sound scary on their own, but combined could be twisted into something sinister the second a public confrontation occurs. In a world where mass surveillance is already the norm, so much so that people are okay with taking pictures and video of total strangers without consent, posting it to an audience of cruel onlookers who bully and harass other humans. Do you genuinely think those guys would ease up on the parasocially sadistic behavior just because the target happens to have antlers or something? No way in hell, man.
Another elephant in the room: HEAT/ESTRUS CYCLES. There would definitely need to be some kind of medications and accommodations to alleviate and suppress the various side effects (erratic and/or agitated behavior, increase in "production" for Hybrids that give eggs or milk). There lies also a concern that the suppressant might not be accessible, even if freedoms on paper are won. More effective medications with fewer negative side-effects might be financially gatekept. If you're deep in a heat cycle and can't afford these things, you might call out of work until it passes, potentially risking your job. The job your people fought to have outside "condemned to be on an unmarked farm forever."
If a Hybrid has a longer or more physically taxing heat cycle, they're even more at-risk. Laws would have to be drafted in addition to things established in some (great emphasis on some) companies allowing for paid pregnancy leave. And even if "dairy and eggs" specializing Hybrids are supposed to give up their product to a company in exchange for getting to work from home in regular clothes. Civilian wear, not glorified Velcro-bound orange prison uniforms with the signature blue "livestock" harness worn over it (sometimes it looks like it's underneath the undone top of a certain cow man's introductory scene to show those soft, dairy-hauling, motherly tanks are indeed bigger than his head, including a large bell around his neck to really seal the deal).
