âChill?â Elliot repeated with a dramatic gasp as he placed his hand over his heart, as if the very thought of being chill was agonizing. âOh my god, Memphis!â He exclaimed in a similar fashion. âWhat is chill about an entire mass of land surrounded by vigorous waves crashing to the surface, just waiting to lure a victim and swallow them whole? For all we know, weâve entered some like- Bermuda triangle stuff! Or maybe pirates will come sailing in and raid all of our treasure, and-â He gasped again and jumped in place as he had a sudden light bulb moment. âMemphis! What if the circle are a bunch of pirates! But not only that, but what if theyâre likeâ undead pirates? Like the ones from that pirate movie? wasnât that a thing? Where it was an army of undead pirates? And there was an undead monkey? What if theyâre not people at all, what if theyâre some sort of spirit or alien parasite infiltrating our minds? What if Luxor is like, their test run, and then once they figure out how to successfully destroy us, theyâll move on to all of humanity!â Just a few seconds ago, Elliot was promising Memphis how much fun everything would be, so he wasnât quite sure why there was a sudden switch. It just felt fun to be extra.Â
Memphis stared at Elliot throughout his entire ramblings, her mind almost immediately gravitating to her own thoughts, as opposed to actually listening to what the male was saying. She had spent enough time with him to know when she needed to listen to him, and when it wasnât all that important; this time was one of the former. It took her a few seconds to realize when he stopped talking and she shook her head a bit, clearing her thoughts so she could focus on him again. âI gotta be honest--â she began, a small smile curling the edge of her lips, âI zoned out at pirates...â She sighed as she laid back in her chair, closing her eyes as she draped an arm above her head and over the top of the headrest. âThatâs what I really need to spice up this trip. Some hot ass pirate coming here and sweeping me off my feet like one of those cheesy fucking romance novels.â
