[Although he acted very aloof, the truth was he was thoroughly amused by her reaction. As she slinked over the covers, a small smile snuck on his lips– a very faint chuckle escaping them.]

I didn’t expect that kind of reaction from you. Could it be you’re flustered?

[She refused to leave the safety of her covers. Even as she heard what almost sounded like a chuckle. The chuckle was both endearing and endlessly irritating.]

Its a more romantic setting. I don’t really care if you stare, I just assumed you’d rather have it stereotypical.

[The architect leaned in, giving the teen a quick kiss before pulling back.]

I wasn’t nervous.

[Well. That embarrassed her more than she thought it would. Her face flushed nearly instantly.]

...Feel free to hang out here. I’m going to-- ...I’m going to take a nap. Right now.

[Yotsuyu was quiet, his dark eyes looking directly at her lighter ones. In his moment of silence he reached over, placing his hand over hers. This girl, as annoying as she was– there was something charming about her.]

If you close your eyes, I’ll consider it.

Does it really matter if my eyes are closed if I can’t see you anyway? Is it unnerving to have someone stare when you’re really close to them?

[Her hand tensed slightly under his, digging her nails into the bed sheet. Eventually, she closed her eyes as she was instructed.]

[He remained silent, noticing her cheeks turn a lighter color. Truthfully, he’d agreed to date her in order to get the social status and wealth he thought he deserved… but lately… He wasn’t quite sure of himself. As she scoot closer, he did too– gazing at her in return.]

Mmn...You are. ...Am I right?

[She sat for a moment, fiddling with the carton in her lap as she blankly stared in his direction, not entirely sure of where it was she was supposed to look. If he was looking at her, that meant he’d come to visit with kinder intentions than normal, right? He’d certainly gotten less cruel-- if only by a fraction. He was still refreshingly, frustratingly blunt, which she liked.]

I highly doubt that. But if you want to spend time with me, that’s your decision.

[His eyes fell to the spot she patted, taking a brief two second pause before sitting himself down.]

……. It shouldn’t matter what I say. For all you know I could be lying. As long as you know he’s looking at you and vice-versa.. That should be the most important thing.

[His words made her cheeks flush slightly. As she felt the weight on the bed, she tried to scoot closer to him, sipping on her drink thoughtfully before speaking again.]

What a rather cruel thing to say. 

[Not that he cared. Her family meant very little to him. As she made her way towards her bedroom, he followed– standing besides her as she herself sat down.]

Hm. Who knows. I think enigmatic answers are the best.

You’re more fun. I don’t care if it’s cruel. It’s honest. I don’t want anything bad to happen to my family-- don’t misunderstand. I’d just rather spend time with you instead.

[Daiya soon patted the space next to her.]

[He picked up the other carton, in case she’d decided to take his advice on drinking both cartons. Lately he’d been coming here more often, it’d become something common for him.]

I’m saying he thinks you’re fine as is.

Yes. Duh.

[Of course, Daiya saw absolutely nothing wrong with her answer. Daiya waddled back to her bedroom, making herself comfortable on the edge of her bed as she sipped happily at her drink.]

I noticed the house was empty. I assumed you’d be here alone.

[His eyes fell to the cartons of milk, taking the strawberry one and handing it to her.]

Drink one, then the other. As for your boyfriend, I doubt he cares.

You assumed riiiiight. But I’m not alone anymore. Which is good. I was feeling lonely without someone here.

[She took the little pint-sized carton, trusting his judgement on it. She stuck the straw attached on the side into it, sipping at her drink and noting that he’d chosen strawberry. ...Maybe he though strawberries were cuter than peaches?]

Is milk all you drink?

...Yo~tsu~yuuuu. I’m glad you’re here. Should I have strawberry or peach?

[At this point, she was trying to guess which carton had which flavor in it.]

Go to another doctor, where one fails another might succeed. In fact, there is no need for a doctor. The solution to your problem is obvious. Force yourself to sleep, find a place where you feel comfortable sleeping.

[She was glad they were both awake? Hilarious.]

……… My body isn’t similar to yours. A doctor can’t help me. I don’t need anyone’s assistance, worry about yourself and your own issues.

 How can I force myself to sleep when I’m not tired? ...I bet I could force myself to sleep if you played with my hair some. ...Or if you let me put my head on your lap.

[Well. Despite how nice she thought their previous interaction was, he sure was grumpy.]

I was reading. Anyways, shouldn’t you be asleep? It’s rather late, especially for someone who’s as young as you.

[Once again he ignored her words of flattery.]

Everything is the same as it was. Not much of a difference, unfortunately.

I’m not tired. ...But it’s okay. Sometimes I have trouble sleeping and waking up. When I’ve been to a doctor about it, he told me that my condition makes my body confused. So...my internal clock isn’t really on a twenty-four hour schedule-- ...Or something like that. I don’t know.

I’m glad we’re both awake right now.

– It’s rude to talk about someone while they’re not in the room.

...Ah... you’re so quiet. I thought you were asleep or something. Being with you is sort of relaxing.

“No, I’m not jealous. I have no reason to be.” If Josuke ever were to beat up Daiya’s supposed boyfriend, it would only be if she were either in absolute danger, or of he was given the direct order from Norisuke or Daiya themselves.  Even then, the girl would be fine. She could just take her boyfriends memories and do as she pleased with them, Josuke supposed. Just as long as they weren’t his own.

“I see… Well, uh… I guess just bring the phone back to me when you’re done? Whenever that may be. Or I may just borrow Joshuu’s phone.” 

“That’s~ What~ You~ Thiiiiiiink~...You’re really a good guy, Josuke. You don’t even want to make your jealous obvious. It’s nice you don’t want to sway me.”

It was probably best that she couldn’t see his unamused expression. But she couldn’t deny it was a little fun to know a secret that he didn’t.
