Life has been a lot more chill after I've accepted that there's no such thing as objective truth. Nobody's right or wrong, nobody has a duty to force themselves to do anything they just flat-out don't want to do. As an arbitrary result of my upbringing and environment, I just happen to believe that there's no point in hurting people.
And if someone else believes the opposite, that it's their point, purpose and duty in life to hurt other people as much as possible whenever they can, it's not my job to make them stop believing that and start believing what I believe instead. It's more productive to just make sure that their opportunities to do that are kept to a minimum.
