hi! so with someone reuploading my stuff (and others) without permission, I just wanted to make a lil post about that topic.
I've been around since the ts2 days, so I absolutely understand and agree with people wanted easy access to cc! I remember the drama from back in the day.
I've always been open with my stuff and constantly shared links to my SFS, you can easily find both my old and new accounts with ALL of my mods linked on my tumblr.
when it comes to people reuploading my stuff, I don't really care as long as credit is directed back to me. the only problem I have with it is that it may not be the most up to date version of the mod, especially with bigger stuff like the CAS Overhauls.
what DOES bother me is the entitlement and demanding attitudes. I do have a patreon. There is a very tiny selection (less than 10, when I have made and shared literally thousands) of mods paywalled there. it is not permanent. it never was meant to be, and I never said it was.
the recent ~drama~ has been that someone reuploaded this content. again, that's fine! but they did it without permission, without asking, while being incredibly rude and downright insulting. they've been referring to me and other creators they've done this to as liars and scammers when, in both mine and at least one of the others, our patreons only exist as a backup download option and donation/support function. they are also spreading blatant misinformation that could easily have been corrected if they just⌠talked to me!
and honestly, this goes for everyone who uses/enjoys my stuff. you can message me, comment, whatever, and ask me any questions you have. you can talk to me. I respond (though sometimes slowly) to every message I get.
this also brings up the entitlement that a lot of players have: you are not owed cc from anyone. every single time a creator shares their work, big or small, they are already being more generous than they have to be. I initially started my cc journey because I wanted to make certain cc for my own use, but decided to post and share it since if I found it useful, others might too!
this is getting longer-winded than intended, so I'm just gonna say this: talk to creators. respect their work, because yes, it can be very hard and take a lot of time to learn and perfect! if it didn't, you could make the same mods yourself, but you don't, do you?
anyways, here's yet again, a link to my SFS accounts where you can find everything :)
