Andy had just got done with seeing his employer giving over the two folders that were as thick as books, he was happy to be done with this case nothing made him hate humans as much as this job did especially when fears are confirmed. He felt bad for the poor soul but in the end he knew that this would help them get the hell out of whatever that whole thing was now. He stopped at coffee shop on the way home and grabbed himself a coffee and a hot cider for Melissa, a hand moving to pull out his phone to check the time, smiling as he looked at the lock-screen it was a picture of their wedding day.

Pulling his keys out and unlocked the door, putting his keys away once more he moved the cups to balance in one hand as he opened the door. He chuckled softly as he was greeted by a kiss and a very excited Melissa, “Hello it’s me babe,” he grinned before he moved to set the coffee cups down and looked over at Melissa confused for a moment, not really understanding what she pulled out. He walked over and took the item from her hands and looked at it, “Wait..” he paused his eyes looking at her then back at the stick in his hand, “Baby?” he asked as his hand moved to her stomach without even really thinking about it.

The thought of having a little one of them about made her eyes well up with tears. Melissa loved her life with Andy. She never thought that someone would want to settle down with her, to have a life with her. Most of her exes always got tired of her or told her she was too ‘much’ but Andy loved her for all she was and now they were going to be parents. Yes, it was quick after their wedding but they were both getting older and Melissa knew it may not be possible for her in a few years. 

Melissa hadn’t been feeling great for a few days now. She figured it was due to the fact that she had now hit 40, the hangover from New Year's Eve was just taking its sweet time to clear. However, she had a thought come to her when she was out shopping and saw a woman with her child. That couldn’t be the reason she felt like this, right? he quickly abandoned her shopping cart, grabbing a test and heading straight home. She was right. It was positive. She was pregnant. Melissa wiped her tears away and waited for her husband to come home. 

As soon as Andy walked through the door she greeted him with a kiss. “Babe, babe, babe.” She started, not even giving him a chance to get settled. “I have something to tell you.” She said, pushing her lips together. Melissa pulled the test out from her pocket and showed it to him, once again her eyes filling with tears. “I know what I’ve not felt good this week.” She chuckled slightly, watching for his reaction.

[text]: You better be ready to hear it for the rest of your life, babe!! i hear it plenty but will never tire of hearing it once more.

[text]: have i mentioned how much i love you recently?

[text]: The fact your answer is to get a bigger house and not less dogs is reason 29384 why I LOVE you!!

[text]: Oh man, we are gonna come home with like six dogs, aren't we?

[text]: I am going to need you to stop me wanting to take them all home.

[text]: Very allergic to cats so dogs all the way. 

Andy put up his hands some as she laughed before he was joining in on the laugh, “I’ll tell him myself which I think I may have mentioned it once when I was drunk…no no it was in my head when I said it.” He stated his face scrunching up ever so slightly as if he was in thought then then looked back at her the smile never leaving his face. He hoped nights like this never stopped happening even after they were married, it was comfortable and relaxing. He gave a small snort of a laugh at her comment, “I don’t think I’m exciting enough for that..” he stated before placing a single finger over her lips, “Don’t blasphemy against Die Hard.”

“I don’t need to be drunk to say that is what you said, it’s amazing.” She chucked. Melissa felt so blessed with her life. She loved her job, had amazing friends and was getting to marry Andy. Everything was perfect. “You know we should get him over for dinner and drinks soon, I feel like it’s been forever since we’ve seen him out of work.” Melissa said. “You are way more exciting, babe.” She beamed, leaning up to give him a kiss along his jaw. “I was not blaspheming it!” She chuckled. “I was just saying you are cooler!” 

“Terry is like a giant teddy bear that has muscles that are constantly moving it’s like being back in a womb.” He stated with a small chuckle happy that him and Melissa could make jokes about things like this without it being taken too serious. He used to think love was just a made up thing that people lied about until he met her, then it all really made sense to him. Well she made sense to him anyways and the fact the he would do anything for her and would go through everything for her and that smile of hers. “Now see that’s what I want at the end of the day to have movies and stories all made about something that happened in my life.”

Melissa let out a loud laugh and threw her head back. “Oh my god, I am going to tell him that you said his hugs are like being in the womb.” She said, wiping the tears forming at the sides of her eyes. This is what life was about. Doing the simple things like lying on the sofa and just talking about anything and everything with the person she loved most in this world, she would never get tired of it. “I think they should make all the movies about you. Die Hard would have nothing on you.” 

“Oh you are the best person for this job I would say and the only person I would ever want in my bed outside of maybe Terry.” He joked with a laugh he wasn’t really sure how she put up with him but he hoped that she continued to put up with his shenanigans. If there was one thing that Andy never thought he would be doing it was planning a wedding..his wedding non the less but now that he was there was nothing he would rather be doing. He loved seeing her smile at him it was one of the many perks about being with her that smile of hers seemed to always make everything seem better. “Yes! Every single thing that gets done needs to have the same person be there just standing in the background never talking.”

“That is fair. I mean, I know we have this love and everything but the love you and Terry have? I wouldn’t dream of coming between that.” Melissa laughed. Everything with Andy just felt right, like she had waited her whole life to find him. Melissa was not expecting him to come into her life but she could not believe that he had and now they were going to be together forever. Melissa knew she could be a lot and it had driven people away from her in the past, but it seemed that Andy loved her for it. “It will be genius. There will be movies made on the subject and everything.” She smiled. 

Nodding his head as looked over at her, “Oh yeah it’s super sexy and hot let me tell you.” he joked with a small chuckle. This relationship with Melissa was one that he never thought would happen, she was out of his league, but he was very happy that she did give him a chance and that they ended up here, engaged. Smiling softly as he chuckled, “Well you’re also good at opening the jars in this house, I swear it’s like jars hate me.” He stated as he cast down slightly at her face before he was leaning down and kissing her forehead before continuing rubbing at her shoulders. “Yes this is perfect what if he hire someone to show up wearing all black and standing off to the side. Really get the crowds wondering what’s happening here.” 

“Then clearly I must be the one for the job.” Melissa teased him, wiggling her eyebrows. First the first day she met Andy, he made her laugh and she was hooked but she never thought someone like him would want to be with her. And now they were here, planning their wedding and she couldn’t see a life without him. “Well with that attitude they are never going to open for you.” She laughed. Melissa's lips turned upward when he kissed her forehead. It was such a simple thing, but she loved it so much. “It’s perfect!” Melissa laughed. “We need to hire the same person in black to all the events, really get people talking.” 

Andy laughed as he looked over at Melissa “Well I do hope you’ll become a permanent bed warmer for me.” He wiggled his eyebrows happy that she always went with his dumb antics. He could still remember how she was when they first started to date and he was happy that he was able to help her grow out of the shell that she used to always live in. “See I knew there was something special about you, you know all the right things to say to someone.” He grinned over at her, knowing that this next chapter of their life was going to be fun and he couldn’t wait to finally have that with her. Hand on her shoulder started to rub along it for a moment the smile never really leaving his face, “I think we should have one spot on a table that’s reserved by a name that we didn’t invite just so everyone starts to wonder who it is.” 

“Permanent bed warmer? Sounds sexy.” Melissa teased. Everything with Andy felt so easy. On paper, she knew they didn’t go together but that didn’t matter because from the first day she met him she had a crush that just grew and grew. Now, she was going to get to marry him and she couldn’t wait for all the adventures they would take together. “Well, I have to be good for something.” She laughed with a smile on her face. Melissa let her head fall back against his chest when he started to rub her shoulder. “Honestly? I love that.” She said. “And it’s an extra plate of food we can steal from.” Melissa laughed.
