uhmm for me generally, i think its really important to not be perfectionistic and constantly experiment. a study i have to combat perfectionism is just actively drawing bad art on purpose.. along w daily gesture studies to help train drawing faster+flowy
for coloring, i like to block in squiggly shadows, it helps with defining the form easier and is fun, as well as just going ham with the colors. although, i try to stick to a tri color scheme, usually 2 warms and 1 cool. i get the caramel chocolate thing tho cause my fav to use are reds, oranges and browns.. mmm warm colors..
i also think keeping the principles+elements of art in mind and picking some favs to focus on is important, like my favs are lines and patterns.. super mega fun.
