•synopsis ⚕️you and latoya are the bestest of friends so when one day she invites you too her house for a hangout you go and you meet her brother and you start to feel something for her brother idk??
🔅 you’re sitting on your living room couch watching pink panther from the glowing television screen at 2 am, when you hear the house phone ringing.
As you get up hurriedly to answer the phone to make sure not to wake anyone, you answer the phone saying “hello who’s this?” latoya’s voice comes through on the other side.
She say’s “hey, y/n, it’s me, latoya she says happily” “hey, latoya how are you? why are you calling me so late? you know i’m supposed to be asleep right about now” “latoya says, well i was wondering if you would want to come to my house tomorrow for a hang out? you answer back saying “yes absolutely!”
It skips to the next morning. she wakes up to the sunlight peaking out from her sun-blinds she realizes what today is and quickly sits up.
she rubs her eyes before throwing the cover off her and hopping out of bed deciding on what to wear.
she throws on some jeans and a sweater, brushes her teeth, and grabs and puts on her converse. By the time she rides her bike to latoya’s house. latoya’s already outside pacing back and forth. she looks up and smiles when she sees her walking up to her.
“there she is” latoya says happily. “I thought you were gonna sleep all day”
“barely made it” she says, sitting down next to her. “but i’m here”
latoya bumps her shoulder with hers. “good. i got snacks come on inside”
she follows her inside, kicking her shoes off by the door. the house is nice - warm, cozy, it feels like a real home. she can hear music playing softly down the hall.
“so the snacks are in the kitchen” latoya says, already heading that way. “just grab whatever”
she follows, turning the corner-
and almost walking into someone
she stumbles back a little, heart jumping. “ oh my god, i’m so sorry-“
she stares at him while standing stiffly. he’s standing there in a loose button-up and dark pants, looking down at her with his dark big brown eyes, a little caught off guard but already softening into a small smile
“its okay!” he says, his voice soft, a little shy. “you okay?”
she nods maybe a little too fast. “yeah yeah i’m fine sorry for just running into you like that”
he laughs quietly, and the sound does something to her chest. “ don’t worry about it”
he steps aside, and she forces her way into the kitchen like as if her heart isn’t pounding out her chest.
she grabs the first bag of chips she sees and sprints back.
that was micheal jackson. that was actually him.
latoya’s already at the counter, pouring two sodas, “oh i see you ran into my brother, huh? sorry i should’ve warned you he would’ve been prancing around”
“yeah he likes to walk around when he thinking of something like a new song or something” she shrugs like it’s nothing. like her brother isn’t one of the most famous people on this planet.
she takes a sip of her soda and tries to act normal.
but inside, she’s already replaying that smile over and over. that soft voice. the way he said you okay? like he actually cared.
