the way bea goes after peter in gifts?! feels so.....well not uncharacteristic but certainly notable. i think part of her finds it easy to get angry at peter even though she's forgiven him, but more than that in this case i think she wants to think that balthazar feels as terrible as she does right now, when he doesn't. freddie makes a romantic gesture that's generic instead of something kit can really appreciate, and ben sends fudge that to bea is entirely cryptic. but peter answers balthazar's several songs with a poem of his own, he's speaking balth's language of love at last. and in the caption he writes "anything I want to say should be said in person", which is a promise that they'll have an actual conversation about the things that matter, that he's not sweeping anything under the rug, that he just wants to do all this properly. i think it would've gone a long way if ben had done those things for beatrice, but he hasn't, maybe he doesn't want to, so what she resorts to is mocking something she KNOWs is important to peter. then she hits him with the "peter. sort your shit out!", which is the easiest possibly way to get a shot at him, the thing everyone's been saying all year, when now finally he's the only one to have it close to sorted.

in all seriousness what a beautiful love confession. so sincerely, so straightforwardly, so plainly 'i love you'. no room for confusion or tangled words or mixed messages anymore. the way peter presses balth to say what he really means instead of hiding behind something half said. their little laughs right before the kiss. the gentleness of it. when they hold each other you can just feel how the whole rest of the world is fuzzing out for them and the other person is all there is. we don't even see them let go of each other.
