Hi, Spanish speaker here. “Te quiero” can have different interpretations (eg platonic) but “te amo” is pretty much exclusively romantic. Even though both mean “I love you,” “te amo” holds a lot more weight. In some telenovelas (soap operas) I’ve seen, even after a couple gets together they still have to work up to the “te amo” point.

That's so cool! Thanks for the info anon! My language is more or less like this and it drives me crazy that in English we just can't tell the difference. (Rhetorical question because anon is 99% not into the field of dubbing tv series) I just wonder then if the Spanish dubbing department took the "liberty" (although it was obvious tbh) to translate it as Te amo or if there was some kind of pointer that it was actually romantic.

Not an incest shipper but I loved the ending. I definitely wish some things were different (a final goodbye to important characters among them) but it's fine. From what I've seen though general audience liked it. And almost everyone who actively disliked the finale seem to be destiel shippers.

I am not a destiel shipper either, as you can probably guess from my url and dp ahah, but I didn't like it that much. I mean, I didn't even hate it. I think they had some good ideas for a more bittersweet ending (who suits Supernatural better than classic happy one) but they executed it so poorly.

To be honest I think that it was fine for a more 'general audience' as in casual watchers. People that tune in once a week and barely forget what happened two seasons before. And like there's nothing wrong with that, but I think that a different way to approach the show allows people the enjoy things differently. Or like even just personal taste. If you were still attached to the first seasons, this was a great way to wrap this up. But if you were invested in all 15? It was a bit underwhelming. It didn't give closure for a lot of characters, or at least it felt like that. Is Michael back? Did Jack resurrect his father and put him back in the cage? Is Adam back? Jack solved like a Deus Ex-machina the problems in Heaven, but the fact that it was collapsing was an important plot point. Kevin?? I am sure there's more.

So I think to TL;DR this ask, if you were in only for a more ~emotional~ approach to the ending, depending on your tastes, this was a great finale regardless of the fact you ship incest or Destiel. If you wanted everything to be wrapped up neatly and give closure, it kind of sucked. My joke about wincest was because they were the main focus and the shippers were particularly happy yesterday.

Anyway I have been dissing the finale on this account and on the main the whole night but just to be clear. I think it was objectively bad written and full of loose threads and whatnot (for example, what happened to Kevin? I assume he's in Heaven because Jack, but I shouldn't be assuming), but if you liked it, I am not judging or trying to invalidate your opinion! Some times people enjoy things just because it resonates with them, not because of a deep analysis. If your thing was a finale with the brothers with throwbacks to the first seasons, that's great! I am happy for you. It's comforting to know that someone finds joy in this finale at least. I am saying this without a shred of irony.

You know what's funny? That they could have gotten away with 15 years of queerbaiting if they didn't include that scene in ep 18. Sure, fans and hardcore shippers would have been upset but the majority of the casual shippers would have shrugged it off as "Yeah. We knew it was queerbaiting. Seen it coming. Obviously Destiel was not going to be canon". But no. They had to take it up to the level where it was canon, at least one sided, to the point they objectively created a plot hole when the confession wasn't addressed later by Dean. It's their fault the last episode is becoming almost a joke (laughing about it so that we don't cry about it, I guess?) and it's their fault they'll have so many fans complaining. I mean, I can't put it into words but that confession was such a stupid move that created too much expectations. I am not even mad...I am just so confused. Professional writers shouldn't be that dumb.

What I am trying to say it's probably, why did they include the scene at all? It so so easy to go in another direction considering the build up of Cas' relationship with Jack in the last season. Cas killing himself to save his son and telling Dean he loved him like a brother, that the three of them where his family etc. Why did the writers need to make it all so hard for themselves? That was what we were used to. We expected this. If you were still following Supernatural...deep down you didn't believe Destiel would be endgame, you were probably just hoping for it to be. But they put us in the position of believing it would! And why? They were not going to and there was no plot reason to make it so.
