Me, salty about the lack of ancient era inspired outfits for Nightbringer?

So excluding birthdays and non-SSRs (since Rs and SRs are easy to get), the following cards came out in 2022:

Club Ace

Among them, the cards that have come to be the most useful meta-wise are:

Boa Epel: An attacker with modest POW for 3 turns. His duo partner is Idia, whose Masquerade card also duos with Epel, making for a great duo pair to use, especially with their compatible elements.

Masquerade Idia: A double Water defense card with major POW DOWN, Idia is heavily useful in Fire Defense. As mentioned above, he and Boa Epel make for a great duo pair, making him useful as well in Basic.

Masquerade Malleus: Malleus has a modest Heal, making him useful already for Defense tests, particularly Flora. Buddy-wise, his synergy is amazing.

Club Lilia: His club card has long past, but if he gets a rerun in the future, he’s worth rolling for! Having the highest HP in-game as of now, Club Lilia also has a small heal and curse immunity.

Tsum Riddle and Leona: Both cards just recently had their banners finished, and if you rolled for them and got them, good for you! Both cards are defense cards, with Riddle great for Fire Defense and Leona great for Flora Defense. Riddle has a modest POW DOWN for both opponents, while Leona has one of the highest base HP stats in the game. Both of them have great buddy synergy.

However, I do note that all the cards are pretty useful in their own right. And in the end, we highly encourage pulling for oshi more than meta, especially if you’re not into the latter.

We've had our Buddy Bonus Calculator in the Resources for a while, but it was in need of an update. I've spruced up the layout slightly.

As always, in order to use it, you'll need to save a copy to your computer. Fill out the yellow boxes with the necessary information:

Card Name

HP/POW

Buddy Level

Heal Magic Level

There's no need to fill in any of the pink or while squares, as it should automatically populate. The new features of the Buddy Calculator, for those who have used this before:

Magic 3 has been added for all SSR cards.

For cards that have heals, set the level of your Heal Magic on the right hand side and it will calculate the total amount of healing the card should do.

Previously, you would have to enter manually if it's in your team or not. Now, that should also be automatic.

Also if you have any tips on clearing book 6 battles since I somehow managed to scrape through part 1 by sheer luck, I would be immensely grateful. I know it's probably going to get rough in the future.

You can refer to this post and this post for how to build teams in general. If you are having difficulties surviving battles, I would add a defense card to the team so I can survive long enough for my duo spells to appear.

For Book 6 battle help, please refer to this post and the ones linked to it.

Dorm Riddle is a good card to center around because he can be used in battles/exams that are Flora or Fire heavy so I will build teams around him.

Dorm Riddle's duo partner is Azul. Against Fire, I would use Bday Azul. Against Flora, I would use either Robes Azul for more damage or Bday Azul for more HP.

Dorm Riddle's power buddy is Cater. Against Fire I would use Silk Cater or Union Cater. Against Flora, I would use Robes Cater.

From there you can see if you can fit in another duo, a card with good buddy synergy, or a good stand alone card that's very strong. Against Fire, I would use Lab Lilia for Union's Cater Duo and Bday Malleus for Bday Azul's duo. Against Flora, I would use Bday Jade and Lab Jack for another duo.

You would refine your teams over time as you pull more cards.

I don't have any teams in mind right now but my cards are

CR Jamil + Dorm, CR and Lab Leona

Dorm, Lab, Beanfest, and CR Rook + Lab, CR, Birthday Boy, Halloween, Beanfest Vil + Birthday Boy, Ghost Marriage, CR, and Lab Epel

Masterchef, Ghost Marriage, CR, and Lab Riddle + Birthday Boy, Halloween, CR, and Lab Azul

all the SSRs are lvl 75+ and groovied while most of the SRs are still lvl 1 except Beanfest Rook who's lvl 50 and Lab Vil (lvl 50+) both are groovied. Pls tell me if I need to show my other cards for the teams!

The two biggest reasons why JP players say that the battles in the latter half of Book 6 is hard is because

Players didn't raise their cards at all and relied on maxed out supports to carry them through the story battles.

Players only raised cards of their favorite characters or dorm.

Book 6 battles need a variety cards of at least 15 characters that are somewhat built. To define 'somewhat built': the teams you want to use should have an average level of 50. Spell levels can vary but it's relativity quick to get Rs and SRs to 5/5.

I strongly recommend looking at these two posts first before sending requests for help with teams.

General advice for Chapter 6 battles

Teams for story battles do not need amazing synergy in order to progress. But they do require you to do history and alchemy lessons to build your cards. Remember that you can also use your extra exam tokens to buy honey and thaumarks to level up your cards as well.
