And for my final act tonight, by far the most elaborate piece I did for any of my classes. This was another one that I bounced between my CGMA Color and Light and Composition classes, and for good reason – the file has upwards of 50 layers. Strictly speaking, it probably didn’t need that many, but I’ve screwed up the Procreate ColorDrop function enough times to be cautious.
This is a piece that I’ve wanted to make for a while, and these classes gave me the skills to finally do it. it’s inspired somewhat by @speakswords fic, All The Way Down, and somewhat by my own nostalgic (and more recent) experiences of going to amusement parks. Most of my best and most cherished memories happened at an amusement park.
Oh, and special thanks to Wayne Tsay (@/waynetsaywhat on instagram) and to my Color and Light teacher, Chris Brock, for introducing me to his work. I did a study of one of his paintings and used the techniques I learned from it to paint the city below, because I never have any idea what to put in backgrounds.
HELLO??? RHIS IS SP BEAUTIFUL I AM WEEPING !! the vibes in this are off the charts I feel like I’ve been transported to the cozy cotton candy dimension where theme park romances are born ♥️✨😭💕💕
Cotton candy dimension… I’d like to think a lot of my art comes from the cotton candy dimension lmao. And man, I just looked through your ‘art for me’ tag, and as much cool art is already in there, there isn’t nearly enough
