Hi!!
It’s been a long time since I last posted! So what’s been going on?
I’ve passed all my anatomy exams (Hey to the YEA!), also I’ve started my neuro/pharamcology course.
I’ve been studying a lot less, which might be why I haven’t posted for a while. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still studying a lot, just not nearly as much as before. Which is good, I think. I mean, I’m still passing everything, just with a lower score. Which is fine since scores don’t matter around here.
I’ve been going out a lot, also I’ve started party-smoking (is that a thing? “party smoking”?) which is fun, but extremely unfortunate for my mucosal cilium. I’ve also been taking a lot of pictures lately. Of random stuff, everything and nothing. Of friends, landscapes and animals. I’ve printed some, those which resembled pleasant memories, and hung them up on the wall beside my desk!
Music... I’ve been listening to a lot of alternative, mellow, hip hop. It feels as if I too frequently switch genre-preferences, which I suppose is a free pass to answering: “about everything”, when someone asks what kind of music I listen to.
I thought I’d keep the posts casual for a while. Post whatever I feel interesting enough to share! I’ve missed posting every so often..!
04.02.2017 This morning I decided to sleep in. I woke up at around 11, made me some coffee, had some breakfast, cleaned my room and then headed out to a café where my firend and I intended to spend the afternoon studying. Apparently they don't allow studying in the afternoon during weekends due to students occupying tables for way too long, allowing for less profits... So: we packed our stuff and continued our work on my friend's dinner table! Tune of the day: Eliza Doolittle - Rollerblades
01.02.2017 School is busy. We have dissections every other day, seminars about twice a week and a whole lot of lectures on top of everything! The days are progressively getting longer, which allows for very little free time spent on other things than school preparations. Also: cooking, cleaning, washing clothes and working out. It's just a lot. BUUT... It's ok, because there's only 4 weeks left of this course. I believe in me, and all of YOU stressed out individuals! Tune of the day: Forgive & Forget - The Kooks

Every 5 weeks we’re assigned practical work at a local health centre. Today was one of those days. It’s quite ok even though we don’t get to do that much: we take some blood pressures, do vein punctions, but most of all we sit on a chair and observe how real doctors handle their patients. Usually I try to sneek off from our assignments to sit in the lunch room and study. It has a coffee machine which means unlimited free coffee! I’ve had 3 cups already and it’s before noon (yes, I know, I have a problem).
Tune of the day: Submarines - The Lumineers
23.01.2017 So my birthday was yesterday. I got this cactus bookmark which also was my favourite present! Still doing anatomy. Also coffee, a whole lot of coffee! This course turned out to be a whole lot more intense than I expected, but at the same time it's a lot of fun! We're doing lectures, seminars and dissections (which is by far the best part). On wednesday we're dissecting the arm! I'm really enjoying this course, only problem is that it offers very little free time, which sucks since I have quite a lot of books I'd like to read. 5 more weeks and It'll be over, we got this! Tune of the day: Is This It - The Strokes

Excuse my french, but today was complete fucking chaos.
I woke up at 06:30 to less than 6 hours’ sleep and the soarest throat. I thought about staying in bed and taking the day off but missing a day scheduled from 08-16 is like digging your own grave. So I sucked it up and went to class. I had a lecture, I dissected (the human throat, lol such ironic), I presented my work, and then headed back home.
Tomorrow looks about the same: we’re continuing to work the throat all the way down to the very top of the thorax.
Now I’m going to continue my preparations for tomorrow before going to bed! Hope you’re all well :)
Tune of the day: Elephant - Damien Rice
18.01.2017 I touched my very first corpse today. We had an autopsy introduction before lunch since we’re starting our dissections tomorrow! The body was very grey/yellow/greenish, its skin was tough and kind of bouncy, it also smelled distinctly of formaldehyde (which is used for its conservation). To my surprise, seeing the corpse didn’t bother me at all. Maybe because of the instructor keeping its face covered or its abnormal colour which made it feel less real. It's quite late now and I'm just finishing off my preparations for tomorrow's throat dissection! Tune of the day: Seaside - The Kooks
14.01.2017
Spent this saturday morning in bed with my book and a cup of coffee. The rest was busy, which is why I’m ending this post here!
Tune of the day: Sober - Childish Gambino

I rarely study the day before my exams. Usually I plan my work so that I finish two days prior to the big day. This course was no exception.
Since I still had nothing planned this morning, I agreed to help one of my classmates last-minute revise for tomorrow. We met up early at this café and worked for a couple of hours. And that's it. I'm done, it's 2pm the day before my exam and I refuse to keep studying.
I do this for several different reasons:
To arrive with a clear mind to the examination.
I'd rather be stressed out two day's prior to the exam than the day bofore. This helps me retain more sleep and arrive refreshed and focused to the test.
Being done with my studying the day before allows me to better answer my classmates’ last minute questions. (Which might be perceived as studying I suppose, hehe)
Later I'm checking out a used armchair I found online. Probably gonna buy it!! Omg so excited!!
Tune of the day: Hopeless Opus - Imagine Dragons

The best feeling is arriving to an exam knowing that you’ve done your part. That you’ve put in the work and effort to prepare for this day. The thought of acquiring this feeling keeps me driven and motivated to study!
Today me, my study group and I decided to meet up early at this cozy café in the mid city. It was a sunny, but cold morning. I wrapped on my scarf, laced my winter boots and chose my warmest jacket to keep me company. We managed to finish all scheduled work before dinner, which opens up the entire evening to do whatever!!! Soooooo…! This evening I’m scouting for a new armchair, then I’m going to work out and meet a friend for late night tea time! Also my book is starting to get really exciting, so I’ll probably finish off the night by reading a couple of chapters.
Tune of the day: Mardy Bum - Arctic Monkeys

Still revising for my endocrinology exam on friday. You know when you study the same subject for so long that you start hating everything about it? Yeh.. Same. Therefore, I’m excited for friday. I’m excited to get this exam overwith so a new course can begin (Which I’ll also end up developing a simillar hate-love relationship with. Hehe). Today’s studysession started early on my floor. Me, my two study buddies, some coffee and of course my precious cacti! I also spontaneously bought a new bike at a second hand store since my previous one was quite horrible.
Going to finish off this day by helping a friend with transporting her newly purchased sofa, working out and cooking! Maybe I’ll do some reading too!
Great day overall! Hope yours was good too :)

Tumblr I need your help. So this is my current student room situation. I really like my room, it’s minimalistic and quite spacious! I just refurnished it to be this way and I really enjoy the way it feels. Only thing left to buy is an armchair to place in the corner where the stool with the speaker is currently located. I need you to help me decide what type of armchair to get…!
What colour, how big, which shape etc. I’m personally thinking about a medium sized plain light gray/dark blue one in cloth. What do you think?

Carolina Rediviva. The academical library at Uppsala. It was founded 1620 by king Gustav II Adolf, although it wasn’t completed until the mid-1800s. Till this day it stands, ever a servant of the curious minds.
Today was spent studying in this antique library. I always try to vary my studying location to not get bored. I feel as if every place sets its unique atmosphere. Frequent change keeps me refreshed, as a sort of divergence from routine which retains my interest for knowledge.

Saturday afternoon endocrinology revision. The morning sun was so beautiful this morning that I decided to leave my bike at home and walk down town. Had lunch at this cozy café locatd next to the city river. Its interior was so earthy, which surprisingly matched with my outfit!! Also: they offered, wait for it, FREE COFFEE REFILLS!? (Sry, I’ve had about 6 cups) So... I decided to stay and do some revision after lunch. The walk home was quite cold though </3
What’s left of this day will be spent by working out, revising some more and drinking tea with a good friend in the late evening!
06.01.2017
So this place offers free coffee refills. ‘Nough said.
Today’s café study session was spent by revising for my endocrinology exam which is next friday. Later I’ll be meeting up with my big brother and his girlfriend for dinner to celebrate his 22nd birthday. Then I’ll probably revise some more before going to bed, or I might meet up with some class mates to do flashcards (which is also revision I suppose).
