Getting back into the game. I was all wrong-headed when I got out. I thought it was wearing me down, but it was only the way that I played it. I can handle it now. I just wish you were here to play with me. I don't believe in love, but for what it's worth - you were always my favourite victim.

I know that you secretly long for and crave that neglect, that rejection and turmoil. I am not blind to your history, and I know much more about why you feel as you do than you can imagine. You seek what you never had, but the person that will fill that place, cannot be too nice, too kind.

Dinner, drinks. I never seem that interested, but I end up telling her how beautiful she is anyway. But then there's the morning after, the hangover, and the realization that I'm not as available as I was the night before. And then she gone, and I'm haunted by yet another road not taken.
