A thought: Jennifer Aniston was in a lotion commercial which sent everyone rushing out to get the lotion because they think they’ll get Jennifer’s looks…because “she clearly uses those products.” so they must be good (But does she really?) Khloe Kardashian promotes Febreeze and everyone goes and buys it so their homes smell like hers. Because she only uses the best, right?! (Wrong)! (You get the point?) But when your friend shares on social media about a product she actually uses daily, one that has impacted her life, you assume “she’s obviously only sharing to make money.” People support celebrities but not family members and friends. Why? Think about it: Jennifer takes away millions from those commercials, and probably doesn’t even use the products. Your friend has a passion to help others to pay their bills, afford their kids activities, climb out of debt, afford gas and groceries, and be able to afford those things too! I was planning to just make a cutesy “Hello August” post, but as I went to Canva to make it, the Lord said to share this verse instead. Over the last few months, I have felt like the Lord was saying to start preparing for battle. God speaks to me in movie and books scenes, and this is something I wrote down last Monday: “I saw God as Aslan, breathing His warm breath on the frozen statues and bringing them back to life. I believe that part of the reason why it’s been so hot in Texas is God is breathing His holy fire on us and making us alive again. He is preparing His army. The White Witch is coming down. If you are not already donning the armor of God, it’s time to start doing that.” The battle is not physical. It’s spiritual. It’s vital that you are prepared. In 2020, I started putting on the armor, and I noticed significant differences in how my days went versus when I would forget to put on the armor. I challenge you to pray this verse over yourself every day for at least a week and see how things change. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. “Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness. They will rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the livestock, the whole earth, and the creatures that crawl on the earth.’ So God created man in his own image; he created him in the image of God; he created them male and female.” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭1:26-27‬ ‭CSB‬‬ He created us in His image, which means that we are also triune beings: body, soul (mind, will, and emotions,) and spirit. I took a class at my church on wholeness, and one week, we discussed how the spirit-man is God conscious, the soul is self conscious, and the body is world conscious. Before the fall, the spirit-man lead the soul, which lead the body. Before sin, we communed with God. We walked with Him. The leader of the class defined death as “termination of communication with the environment.” When Adam and Eve sinned, the spirit-man died. Then it became the body leading the soul, which leads the spirit. We no longer were able to commune and walk with God as we once had. It’s all God ever wanted, was to be a family and live in relationship, but He gave us free will so that we could choose to love Him back. Forced love is not love. But because God is holy, He cannot abide with sin. That is why Jesus Christ, fully God, fully man, came to live a perfect, sinless life, became the sacrificial Lamb and died on the cross that we so deserved. He died that so that the spirit-man would live again and be back at the helm. We are now able to live life with the three parts of us in agreement. So that is my goal: to help bring your spirit, soul, and body into agreement and alignment. As we do that, you’ll begin to experience peace and joy that is beyond understanding. This is the whole point of the cross; the whole point of Jesus descending from Heaven, living a sinless life, becoming the sacrificial lamb, conquering death, resurrecting, and ascending back to Heaven. Because of sin, we became estranged from the Father, and all He wanted was His family back together. So Jesus came. Now, because of His blood, we can legally be reconciled. We don’t have to live in sin anymore. We don’t have to be plagued with anxiety, fear, illness, scarcity. We have an inheritance. We have access to the keys of the Kingdom. If we could truly grasp this concept, how would we respond? How would we live our lives? Suddenly, being set apart and pursuing holiness and wholeness is attainable, and we want to live differently. I’m so grateful for the cross. I’m so grateful for a Father who wanted to be close to me. I’m grateful for a God who sees me in my sin, still loved me enough to die in my place, and changes me to be more like Jesus. He died for you too. If you’re away from the Father, you’re not too far gone.
