With the recent rumblings about censorship and work deletions on Wattpad, many users are considering posting to AO3 for the first time. If that describes you, you may have questions.

How does AO3 work? What is and isn’t allowed?
My first recommendation for new users is always to skim the Terms of Service FAQ. It explains what AO3 allows and why in plain, straightforward terms. AO3 does not allow placeholder works, commercial content such as commissions links, or “work search” posts.
How can I change the look of the site?
The appearance of AO3 is very customizable! If you just want a basic dark mode, scroll down to the bottom of any page and click “Reversi” under the Customize menu. For more advanced customizations, I can’t recommend @ao3commentoftheday enough. They have so many gorgeous tutorials for everything from site skins to making the site’s content filters do whatever you want.
Wattpad users may especially appreciate the Floating Comment Box extension, which makes commenting on AO3 work slightly more like Wattpad.
How does AO3 search work?
This handy guide by @backofthebookshelf covers the basics. Here is a cheatsheet with more advanced searching tricks.
I’m ready to post my own works. How do I add [specific thing]?
With a little bit of HTML, you can do some incredibly neat things in an AO3 work. Here’s the website running Doom. Here is a very comprehensive guide to Limited HTML on AO3. It may look intimidating at first, but you can get a lot done by copying and pasting and paying attention to the results. Why is Wattpad doing this now? Have similar things happened before?
Fandom creatives have been outrunning purges and legal threats for a long time. Here is a comprehensive timeline of fandom purges and legal actions taken against fanworks, from 1977 to the present day. Here is another timeline written by @olderthannetfic, with associated commentary from other fans.
Purges on LiveJournal and other sites circa 2007 influenced the founding of AO3. You can read in detail about the circumstances of its founding and the construction of the policies it abides by today here.

Kallamar, who has long since been indoctrinated into Ariel's cult, wakes up in a time he and his siblings were still gods.
Though he is back in the past, his wounds are still healed from his cleansing.
Upon realizing Shamura already decreed the genocide of the sheepfolk, Kallamar plots behind his siblings' back to save the sheepfolk.
He orders his followers to find and bring sheepfolk into his domain, but not before ordering the construction of underground shelters. After all, there is no intercepting a prophecy and all the effort put into that only brought needless anguish and suffering in the original timeline.
To cover his tracks, he also orders the burning of any and all sheepfolk villages they take sheepfolk from, but not before ensuring their culture and history are preserved in his domain.
He allows the worship of Yngya within his domain under the condition that it's done discreetly. That may or may not lead to polytheistic worship.
Of course, Kallamar cannot save all the sheepfolk from the slaughter.
Aza and Keru are amongst the few Woolhaven sheepfolk he managed to save before his siblings find it.
The events of the game still happen: Ariel still becomes Narinder's vessel, the bishops are still slain, etc.
When Kallamar is confronted by Heket and Leshy for harboring sheepfolk, he stands up to them for he is no longer a coward and has made peace with his fate.
By the time Ariel makes it to Anchordeep, Kallamar has already been slain. Many of his followers are dead, but those still alive are benevolent. Due to this, there is no bloodshed in Anchordeep from Ariel's end.
Sheepfolk harbored in Anchordeep can be brought into Ariel's cult.
Many, both ghost and living, return to Woolhaven.
Many of Yngya's followers find closure in the reunion, including Koka and Chazaq who find out their daughters lived to reach adulthood and at least one of them started a family.
Yngya is conflicted as many spirits within her rage over the genocide still.

Ariel, my Lamb, is fluent in the feline tongue as she was raised in a household of cats. Hence why she, upon meeting Narinder, spoke to him in said tongue.
If there are bits of canon you don't like in a piece of media you enjoy, you can disregard said bits, replace them with headcanons, or in certain cases soak them in vinegar to get rid of the piss they're coated in.
I imagine the kid had to learn about the culture of their people on their parent's side, and who else would learn from besides Yngya and the denizens of Woolhaven?
Things would likely be awkward between the kid and the Woolhaven ghosts; because on one hand, the kid is a child of Leshy; on the other, the child is innocent. All the same, that child is a lamb and thus part of their race's future.
The sheep ghosts, though conflicted AF, would keep quiet about the other side of the child's heritage.
Obviously, Leshy isn't allowed in Woolhaven. So whenever the Lamb is unable to pick up their child from Woolhaven, Yngya would do so in the Lamb's stead.

Cancel all subscriptions, including Nitro, Server Boosts, and in-app monetisation subscriptions for Servers, Bots, and Activities
Don't play or watch any Quests, even if it's just for Orbs.
Don't purchase anything from Discord's Cosmetics Shop, even with Orbs.
Don't purchase anything from any Game-integrated Shops inside Discord (ie: the Rust & Marvel Rivals ones)
Of course, also be sure to make noise about it so Discord's CEO can't just turn a blind eye to it!
