CLOSED STARTER FOR @mcxicancharmβ
Dylan didnβt mind spending his Saturday night at Ariβs to look after his kid. He only lived right next door, after all, and though he had the option to bring Arturo to his place, he didnβt think it was the right environment for such a young child for various reasons. Besides, something about Ariβs house seemed much homier to him, in a sense. He didnβt know what about it made him feel that way, but it was strangely comforting.
After tucking Arturo in bed, Dylan decided to wait for Ari in the living room and hadnβt realized heβd fallen asleep to a game show rerun on the TV until a sound made him stir awake. He opened his eyes to a figure in front of him, and he jolted up at the thought of an intruder in the house before he remembered that he was in someone elseβs house and that theΒ βintruderβ was just the owner.Β βHey, sorryβ¦ did you just get here?β Dylan said, quickly getting up despite still barely having come to full consciousness, wiping the side of his mouth in case of any dried-up drool.Β
After the daily nighttime story (king Arthur again, Arturoβs all-time favorite) and the mandatory (by Arturoβs grandma) prayer of the night, Ari finally exited his kidβs room with a long and tired sigh, a hand massaging his own shoulder blades as he tried to get rid of the tension in them. Once he made sure his kid was, in fact, asleep, he closed the door and made his way to the living room, only to realize his neighbor was completely asleep.Β
With a chuckle, he went to the kitchen and gathered some snacks for them and made his way back to the living room. Just as he was about to sit down, his foot kicked the table and he cursed under his breath, a soft chuckle escaping his lips at the otherβs question.Β βYeah, kind of. It takes Art a while to fall asleep, sorry about that. He was excited to have you over so he didnβt want to sleep. I brought snacks, I made some cheese sauce last night so, help yourself man. You want a beer? Or something stronger?βΒ
