“I just spent the last ten minutes looking for my phone while I was on the phone. It’s been that kind of day.”

“that sounds so overwhelming, dude. i wish my house was piperland,” she mused with a shrug. “wait, how old are you? are you like twelve, or some shit?”

“I was at the mall today after work and believe me or not what happened then. A kid, I swear he was like twelve or something, came up to me and asked me if he could touch my boob for ten bucks. What happened to this generation?!“

and there it was, her younger sister who knew so much more about life than she did. it was like a slap in her face as the younger girl mentioned that she was protecting herself better than rena clearly did. a soft sigh leaving past her lips. nodding her head so slightly. at the point, she felt like if she would open her mouth at that moment, she’d probably end up crying. instead she just kept herself silent and nodded along with every little thing her sister said. “ i’m … glad you told mom about this, ” was all she could bring out at that very moment. she looked away from her sister as she tried to find the nearby pillow which she set onto her lap. “ as long … as you know what you’re doing, it’s fine - i guess, ” she knew she actually was the last person to give her sister advice on this. “ i’m —- i think i should just … ” she gestured to the door. “ i think i should just go ? ” she said as she got up from her sister’s bed. “ so i won’t interrupt you on …. that, ” she said and pointed at the notebook the girl had on her desk. grabbing another cookie before she gave her sister one more look as tears threatened to fill her eyes. 

“ seesh, meg. all i want is the best for you. no need to go off at me like that ! ” even though megan was proving her point, rena’s hormonal self couldn’t take her sister going off like that at her. “ i know …. jeez, i just .. i just .. want you to be careful, okay ? ” more like, she didn’t want her sister to end up in the same situation as she was in now. rena’s eyes widened a little as her sister said her last sentence. “ stop with this bullshit ! megan you’re fifteen ! ” when she was fifteen, she thought she had all at that moment too when she soon started to date her ex-boyfriend, but really she was so naive to not see how much he was taking advantage of her. 

“ i wish i could say that i’m proud of you knowing your own limits but really, i don’t like the fact of you being near alcohol, ” rena said out of her own experiences with alcohol. “ i don’t understand the whole hype about it anyway. but … like … please let me know if it’s your friends who’re trying to be one of those ‘cool kids’ and dragging you in to this … because then i’ll show them who’s daughter i am, ” she said. sure, she of course wasn’t all this confident when it came to other people but when it came to one of her sisters or her parents, she had no shame and knew no limits. “ you know what ? i’m actually glad to hear this. no need to think about boys at this young age anyway, ” she said as if she wasn’t the one pregnant now — but oh well, no one really knew yet. 

“what does she have a shrine dedicated to you, or something?” piper teased as she chuckle fell from her mouth. “let’s go. i can drive if you’d like.”

“ you don’t always ? so this basically means you did drink ? ” sure, rena could be pretty overreacting when it could’ve just been one glass but really she was just overprotective which was definitely something she got from her parents. “ but …. that’s also good so they know they shouldn’t mess with you because papa will probably lock them up, ” rena chuckled softly.  

“your mother must be so proud,” her shoulders shrugged. “honestly, i’ll take it. we just need to stop by target, and pick up a few snacks, and an iced coffee.”

“what movies made the cut?”

rena shook her head in disbelief. “ meg, we don’t need alcohol to have fun ! we can have fun without it, ” rena said as a soft chuckle left from her glossy lips. “ i just don’t understand why teenagers can’t have fun without the alcohol, ” she had never understood the whole concept of alcohol anyway. it tasted bad and most of the times you’ll only get headaches from it. “ oh my god … i can already imagine a whole speech in spanish coming, ” rena rolled her eyes.
