she’s trying to be serious. she’s trying to be a little more open with at least someone in the tower. but cayde seems fit to turn it into a joke. and, much to ikora’s chagrin, she laughs anyways. she struggles to stay neutral, to show displeasure, but, still warmth fills her chest. something glimmers just behind her eyes. in the end, she laughs. she always does. 

there’s just something about him that can always break down her walls. 

“i’m not some LIBRARIAN, cayde.” her lips twitch upwards, smiling slowly forming. “believe it or not, i enjoy the rush of wind, the thrill of battle. it’s just imperative that i don’t show it, as you seem to enjoy.”

A twinge of guilt surfaced⎯⎯⎯with a dazzling dash of disquiet. Those two never seemed to stray behind like he'd want them to. Why guilt? Because Ikora opened up and he couldn't keep it professional. Couldn't quell the jokes because he felt nervous. Why disquiet? Because he couldn't tell if her laugh was real or it if was a product of stifled sting.

Was he humorous or did he instill another wave of dislike?
