MOK JISANG (The Great Seer): ENTP
Extraverted Intuition (Ne): Mok Jisang is an imaginative thinker. Throughout the drama, he is shown to be quick on his feet and solve problems quickly. This is because of his Ne helping him find fast solutions to problems and coming up with big ideas and possibilities. Toward the end of The Great Seer, Jisang is Yi Sunggye’s idea man. He is known to everyone around him as a brilliant strategist, and that’s all thanks to his Ne constantly coming up with scenarios and answers. However, his ideas don’t seem logical to most people around him most of the time. He is a risk taker because he trusts his intuition to come up with the correct solution. Jisang is known to put himself in danger because he always follows his gut.
Introverted Thinking (Ti): Like a true ENTP, Mok Jisang thrives when he is given to opportunity to learn and grow his mind. His Ti helps him sift through his ideas the Ne provides and chooses the most logical approach. They are quick to decide whether something is correct or incorrect. When Sunggye is fighting for the throne, there are many suggestions brought up. Mok Jisang quickly rejects the ideas which are not logical to him. When thinking, ENTPs actually become serious and more focused on the task at hand, even if they don’t outwardly display this. Like ENTPs, Mok Jisang is known to joke around and argue with people for fun, but he is serious, always thinking and plotting about what to do next.
Extraverted Feeling (Fe): This function is the reason why ENTPs are such great communicators. It helps them to easily persuade people to agree or do what they say; they are excellent persuaders. Their Fe contributes to their want and need to solve problems for the people they love and care about. Mok Jisang is a social butterfly. Throughout the drama, he is seen to always have people join his side. He is very popular and cares deeply for the ones he loves. However, because this is one of the weaker functions, he can be shown to be insensitive and harsh, even if he means well. At one point, his decisions became so brutal that he scared his wife, Haein, away for a while. In the end, he becomes a more compassionate and gentle man thanks to his family and friends’ help.
Introverted Sensing (Si): Being the last function, ENTP’s Si is very weak. When strengthened, it organizes all of the ENTP’s ideas and thoughts, helps them to become more reliable, and causes them to focus more on the details than the bigger picture. Like ENTPs, Mok Jisang has a difficult time with everything listed above. He can seem scatterbrained to others and reckless, even if he himself doesn’t think he is. Because he is always out solving problems, he has a difficult time committing himself to Haein. ENTPs need a good balance of Si to help them not always search for unconventional ways of living. They need to surround themselves with people who will help them to slow down a little bit. Mok Jisang receives this from Haein, and becomes better from it.
LEE EUNSUNG (New Heart): ENFP
Extraverted Intuition (Ne): ENFPs are always thinking about future ideas and possibilities. They are known to have their “head in the clouds” constantly. Their Ne helps them to detect patterns and jump to conclusions faster. When set on a goal, ENFPs can tend to hone in on one single thing and be very stubborn. Eunsung displays these traits. He is bright and imaginative, always coming up with different and unique ways to solve problems. He also has a tendency to be so determined to fix a patient that he ignores the advice of his superiors and colleagues. However, his quick thinking and ideas have helped save patients many times, thanks to his intuition skipping certain steps in his brain and coming up to the (usually pretty correct) conclusion.
Introverted Feeling (Fi): When making decisions, ENFPs use this function. Rather than being based on emotional feelings, Fi is a feeling that comes from within and helps develop a strong moral code to make decisions by. Because of their Ne and Fi, it is easy for them to go by their “gut feeling”, and let their emotions guide them. ENFPs are very caring and compassionate individuals who are empathetic to the people around them. Eunsung is known to always go by his feelings. He is a very emotional person who places great value on the care he gives to his patients and friends. When he makes a decision, he does it because he truly believes it is the right decision, even if it isn’t popular with everyone else. In fact, he’s usually siding with Chief Choi, who is controversial in the surgeries he chooses to perform.
Extraverted Thinking (Te): ENFPs use their Te to solve problems and come up with solutions. This function helps them think quickly and be more efficient. They tend to balance their thought process by using a decent amount of both their Fi and Te. ENFPs usually “think out loud” instead of internally processing their information. Eunsung is shown to do this. He is always talking and bringing up ideas and scenarios, whether they are bad or good. This is because he processes and understands his thoughts better when spoken out loud. He also is quick on his feet thanks to his Te helping him make fast decisions.
Introverted Sensing (Si): Being the weakest function, ENFPs do not typically use their Si in their thought process. Being the dreamers and idealists they are, it is difficult for them when they are boxed in by the facts. Eunsung is shown constantly argue with Nam Heseok, an ISTJ, about the rules and procedures of how a hospital should run. Types with a strong Si easily follow instructions and are easier to accept concrete facts. However, when strengthened, an ENFP’s Si can help them organize their thoughts and actually go through with their ideas. Eunsung relies on his Ne so much that he is annoyed by Heseok’s constant reminders of the rules and regulations. Being an ENFP, he just wants to be a free thinker and to test out his ideas as he pleases.
OH RION (Kill Me Heal Me): ENFP
Extraverted Intuition (Ne): ENFPs are creative souls. They use their Ne to find patterns, focus on future possibilities, and come up with ideas. Oh Rion is a famous author who is constantly writing new and interesting stories. A strong Ne function is known easily predict what will happen in certain situations. Although their thinking process may seem scrambled compared to other types, ENFPs are smart and can easily solve problems and find solutions thanks to their strong Ne. Oh Rion is always using his Ne, whether it be writing books or predicting Cha Dohyun’s life story.
Introverted Feeling (Fi): When making big decisions, ENFPs use their feelings over their thoughts. Because of their strong moral code, they will chose feelings over logical thinking. This is evident when Rion brings Rijin back home, even if she was doing good by taking care of Dohyun. Rion made up in his mind that Rijin was wrong and acted on it, whether or not Rijin agreed. The way he feels about Rijin causes him to act rashly. ENFPs are very caring and considerate for the ones they love, and are careful to display themselves in a way that seems like able to others. They really just want love and to love others; Rion is the same way.
Extraverted Thinking (Te): ENFPs use their Te to logically solve problems. Although they choose their feelings over their Te, it is still useful for them. This function helps them to come up with decisions a little faster. ENFPs also use their Te to correct and refine things, like Rion editing his book. Their thinking becomes more orderly when their Te is strengthened.
Introverted Sensing (Si): Because this is the weakest function, it shows up more subconsciously in ENFPs’ decision making. Si helps to organize their thoughts and memories and keep them from being so scrambled. Since their Si is so weak, it’s difficult for them to focus on the present instead of the future. Their Si helps them apply their past to making future decision and be more consistent with their creative projects. Rion’s Si is used while he focuses on completely chapters in time compared to working in bursts of energy (which ENFPs are known to do).
OH RIJIN (Kill Me Heal Me): ESFJ
Extraverted Feeling (Fe): ESFJs make decisions based on their personal feelings. Since their main concern is people, they always account how their decision will affect the people around them. However, they go by their “gut feeling” and can be quick to judge. This can lead to ESFJs assuming things about others that might not be true. When in an environment full of people, their Fe is energized. Rijin exhibits all of these. She lives her life serving others and deeply cares for those she surrounds herself with. She was quick to judge Shin Segi’s behavior, but once she took time to fully understand the situation, she was forgiving and gentle. ESFJs care so much about their people group that they will sacrifice their own needs in order to serve. Rijin reaches a breaking point with Cha Dohyun where she admitted she needed a break after helping him so long. It is important for ESFJs to surround themselves with people who will encourage self care. Rijin has an amazing family who does just that.
Introverted Sensing (Si): ESFJs process information step by step, which is why it took a while for Rijin to realize Dohyun’s DID. Instead of going out of order in their thought process, their mind functions like a large filing cabinet, neatly and correctly organizing the ESFJs’ thoughts. Their Si also contributes to deciding what is the right and wrong decision based on what their Fe gathers. ESFJs are focused on the present instead of the future. Rijin is the same way. She decided to stay in Korea with Dohyun not thinking of the possibility that her family might see her in public.
Extraverted Intuition (Ne): Rijin sees potential in people, and that’s thanks to her Ne. ESFJs use their Ne to find creative solutions and be more open to ideas. They use this function to explore each alternative before deciding what to do. Ne helps locate patterns and find the answer faster. Because this is one of the weaker functions for the ESFJ, it isn’t used as much and takes them more time to figure things out.
Introverted Thinking (Ti): ESFJs are known to be organized people. Their Ti helps them be more analytical and objective with their thinking. However, this is the weakest function, so ESFJs will usually ignore the theoretical problems and things that take a lot of thought. Because they are so extroverted, their main focus lies on the outside world and people, not inside. Like ESFJs, Rijin’s main focus is the people surrounding her. She is a smart girl, and uses her Ti only when she needs to. Otherwise, she goes by her feelings.

SHIN SEGI (Kill Me Heal Me): ESTP
Extraverted Sensing (Se): Unlike Cha Dohyun, Segi longs to be constantly entertained. Being a sensor, he learns about the world around him by his senses. ESTPs don’t want to just learn about something; they want to experience it hands on. Segi searches for new thrills each time he comes out. ESTPs are also known to be bored by situations that involve a great deal of concentration. This is why Segi struggles so much by trying to fill in Dohyun’s role at work. At heart, he is just a little boy who wants to have fun with Rijin.
Introverted Thinking (Ti): Although it may seem out of character to other people, ESTPs can be very goal oriented. As shown in the drama, Shin Segi is very determined to get rid of Cha Dohyun. ESTPs also use their Ti to master skill sets and come up with logical and practical solutions to problems. Even though Segi looks to be acting irrationally, his brain has decided that the actions he performs are the most logical for him.
Extraverted Feeling (Fe): This function is used while the ESTP is socializing. They use their Fe to create good relationships and harmony in their friend groups. Shin Segi does act like he doesn’t need anyone, but that is not the case. ESTPs long to be surrounded by the people they love. Segi, an immature ESTP, will sacrifice others’ wants and needs to satisfy his own, but a more mature ESTP will go out of their way to create a safe environment for the people they are close to. Segi rarely shows this, only when he is with Rijin. ESTPs don’t typically talk about their emotions, which can cause them to boil over. Segi has had this problem numerous times throughout the drama. ESTPs need to surround themselves with caring individuals to help bring their emotions out in a healthy way.
Introverted Intuition (Ni): ESTPs Ni is their weakest function, but when strengthened, it helps them be thorough in their thought process, go by their “gut feeling”, and think about the future. Segi is reckless, never thinking about the circumstances of his actions. A good Ni will allow him to predict what will happen in a certain situation. If the outcome they predicted is bad, they can simply choose another way. ESTPs should definitely try strengthening their Ni, but not rely on it too much as it can be draining for them.
KIM JUNGWOO (Swallow the Sun): ISTP
Introverted Thinking (Ti): ISTPs are introverted thinkers, which is exactly what it sounds like. When dealing with information, they process it internally. Because of this, they tend to be quiet people and don’t tend to think verbally. ISTPs are logical and push away emotional matters when solving problems or making decisions. Kim Jungwoo is the same way. He ignores his emotions and thinks through most decisions he makes. They are action oriented, wanting to get things done as soon as possible and move on. ISTPs are difficult to get close to because of these qualities. It takes Soohyun so long to get Jungwoo to open up even a little bit. Like an ISTP, Jungwoo appears cold and mysterious.
Extraverted Sensing (Se): ISTPs are not ones to dedicate themselves long term. They focus on the “here and now” instead of future plans. They enjoy learning about the world around them through their senses and take in information that way. They will try new things just because they want to. Jungwoo tried several new things throughout the drama. He goes to Seoul with no hesitation, works in the US, becomes a mercenary, and eventually works with his father’s company. He risks his life just to feel a different sensation. However, he didn’t do these things without a solid and practical plan behind it. He knew that he would eventually revenge his father and had it all laid out before hand.
Introverted Intuition (Ni): This function is weaker, but that does not mean it is not used. Although ISTPs don’t typically enjoy theories, they will take the concepts or ideas their mind come up with and apply them practically. Their Ni also helps them go by their “gut” instead of overly thinking out their decisions. Kim Jungwoo is usually very thoughtful when making decisions, but he does reach a point where he just does whatever he feels in the moment.
Extraverted Feeling (Fe): Being the weakest function, it is the least used by ISTPs, but it is still used in their lives. Their Fe makes them desire to solve their loved ones’ problems in a practical and logical way. When an ISTP is in a serious relationship, they will put more effort and intention into it. ISTPs’ Fe can also be more apparent in times a stress. If their emotions are not dealt with in a healthy way, it will boil over and explode in very unhealthy ways. When Kisang passes away, Jungwoo over indulges himself in bad habits and becomes miserable. Soohyun definitely helps Jungwoo express his emotions in a healthy way eventually, but it takes a long time to get there.
CHA DOHYUN (Kill Me Heal Me): INFJ
Introverted Intuition (Ni): INFJs are deep thinkers who enjoy discussing different thoughts and ideas. Their Ni helps them detect patterns and easily find solutions to problems. They enjoy learning and researching new subjects, and use their Ni to collect those ideas. Like a true INFJ, Cha Dohyun is a scholar. He was a top student in his school and is a thorough researcher in his work and with his DID. INFJs are curious about the world around them and what their purpose in life is. They also use their intuition to focus on a single thought. If determined enough, they sometimes come off as extremely stubborn. Cha Dohyun is know to do the same thing, like sending a letter to Rijin’s work so she can come work for him. He did not take no for an answer because he was so focused on achieving that goal.
Extraverted Feeling (Fe): INFJs are known as the counseling personality. They can easily detect what the mood of the room is and are easily empathetic towards the people they love. However, they have a harder time opening up and discovering their own emotions. INFJs care deeply and aren’t ones to disrupt the harmony in the room. They fear hurting the people they care about and have a difficult time saying no to others. Dohyun exhibits these traits. He fears disappointing his family and does not tell them about his DID. He struggles to keep a perfect image as not to cause more chaos. INFJs also use their Ni and Fe to communicate their thoughts and feelings with a calm and understanding tone.
Introverted Thinking (Ti): Known as being thinkers and feelers, INFJs are objective and logical when it comes to their thinking process. They consider the outcome of each solution they come up with to determine which will be best. They tend to focus on logic and facts. However, since this is one of the INFJs weaker functions, their logic can be outweighed by their concern for others. Because of this, they use their Ti to make decisions mostly when they are alone. INFJs are known to think inwardly quite a lot. We see in the drama how often Cha Dohyun sits and processes everything going on inwardly instead of saying his thoughts outwardly.
Extraverted Sensing (Se): INFJs are always thinking about future possibilities. When their Se strengthens, it can allow them to focus on the present and be more aware of their surroundings. With a stronger Se, INFJs will enjoy more physical activities like bike riding or running. Cha Dohyun’s Se strengthens throughout the drama, thanks to Rijin (an ESFJ)’s ability to help him loosen up. They enjoy good food together, ride rollercoasters together, and shop together. She helps him enjoy the outer world and put less focus on the inside.
KIM SURO (Kim Suro: The Iron King): ENFJ
Extraverted Feeling (Fe): ENFJs are natural born leaders. They use their Fe to build relationships, empathize with others, and make the best possible decisions for their people group. Kim Suro exhibits all of these. He is generous, understanding, and a fighter for justice and equality for his people. Types with Fe are affected by their environment and can easily point out what needs to be changed. ENFJs will not stop until the flaw that they have fixated on is gone. Suro is the same way, constantly fighting for change in his nation.
Introverted Intuition (Ni): ENFJs are constantly thinking of ways to solve problems. When thinking, they tend to jump around and skip over things in their thought process, which causes them to presume things that will happen. ENFJs are more comfortable trying new things because they use their Ni to mostly correctly predict the outcome. Throughout the drama, we see Suro constantly trying and succeeding at new things. He builds a ship with no experience, builds and runs an iron forge, and eventually becomes king. He is confident in his decisions because of his Ni assuming that he will be successful. ENFJs are also excellent with people, using their Fe and Ni to naturally empathize and point out people’s dilemmas. Suro is known to do this, easily understanding his friends and acquaintances’ feelings.
Extraverted Sensing (Se): As mentioned earlier, Suro loves to try new things. A well developed Se makes ENFJs crave to experience different sensations. Se can help ENFJs organize their thoughts in a more understandable way. Suro’s Se strengthens as he ages. He uses it to create a solid, well thought-out plans and helps him to also focus on the smaller details instead of just the bigger picture.
Introverted Thinking (Ti): Being the weakest function, it takes time for an ENFJs’ Ti to strengthen. When making decisions, ENFJs are most likely to always put their feelings over their thoughts. Having a well developed Ti is a good thing, but can limit the Ni’s endless possibilities. Suro’s Ti definitely is used more as he grows older, but he still surrounds himself by thinkers who can help him shape his complex ideas into realistic, doable plans. ENFJs love feedback and input from those around them and are generally open minded people. Even when he is king, Suro is always asking others for advice and opinions when making decisions, which is a good thing. ENFJs need people with strong Ti or Te to keep them grounded.
CHA JOOHYUK (Familiar Wife): ESFP
Extraverted Sensing (Se): ESFPs live in the here and now. They explore and understand the world by using their senses. They love to have fun and are always looking to be entertained. Cha Joohyuk displays the same traits. He wants a new video game consol, he wants a new wife, he wants a new environment. Joohyuk is constantly looking for new ways to satisfy his thirst for fun. Like ESFPs, he does not plan well for the future and can tend to be reckless in his decision making. Joohyuk also does not like routine, which is why meeting with Hyewon’s parents every weekend or working everyday become boring to him.
Introverted Feeling (Fi): When making decisions, Cha Joohyuk rarely thinks. He is always deciding based on his feelings at the given moment, which can cause bad decisions (aka switching your wife). However, this does not mean ESFPs are entirely selfish. In fact, it’s habitual for them to bulldoze over their feelings to please other people because of their fear of confrontation. Throughout the show, we see how much Joohyuk dislikes confrontation, from the arguments with his original wife to his best friend punching him in the face. ESFPs are empathetic and warm to the people they love and cherish. In the end, Joohyuk is shown to care deeply for his family and friends and makes everything right.
Extraverted Thinking (Te): When ESFPs strengthen this function, it is used more during their decision making. They use this function to solve problems and create order in their environment. Because of their fear of upsetting others, ESFPs tend to rarely share their ideas. In Familiar Wife, we rarely see Cha Joohyuk use his Te because of how often he goes by his feelings. However, we see in the flashbacks how smart Cha Joohyuk was in college. In fact, he became Woojin’s tutor because of his excellence in school.
Introverted Intuition (Ni): Being the weakest function, ESFPs don’t typically use this because of their strong preference for their Se. It can be helpful to strengthen this function because it helps ESFPs spot patterns and connect things they have seen. Cha Joohyuk rarely uses his Ni, as he discovers the patterns of his bad behavior only when there is nothing he can do to change it. ESFPs aren’t usually stressed about future possibilities, which is another reason why this function is the weakest. Joohyuk barely uses his Ni to make any decisions until he stops and thinks about his future wants and plans.

CHA YOHAN (Doctor John): INTP
Introverted Thinking (Ti): INTPs dominant function is their Ti, which allows them to think logically and objectively. Their goal is to be accurate while solving problems. Cha Yohan is shown constantly striving for the correct answer. Like an INTP, he is thorough in his research and analysis, always aiming to be absolutely accurate. He will spend hours of his life thinking and theorizing until he comes up with the answer, even going so far as to neglect not only his needs, but his staffs as well. INTPs seek to understand, which applies to Cha Yohan’s years of studying medicine just to understand what pain is like.
Extraverted Intuition (Ne): Cha Yohan is a brainstormer. Drawing on boards, rambling through meetings, he is always processing out loud. INTPs are known to do this as well. To others, their ideas may seem confusing or wrong even if it actually is logical; the reason most people feel this way is because INTPs tend to hop from one subject to another, looking for underlying patterns or ideas. The reason INTPs are so thorough is because they want the end result to be perfect.
Introverted Sensing (Si): This function helps INTPs remember the information that they have learned. It allows their thoughts to be more structured and put together. Cha Yohan is excellent at diagonising a patient in little time, all thanks to his Si keeping all of the knowledge he has collected. Their assurance that what they believe is absolutely right may come off as arrogant to other people. In Doctor John, Cha Yohan’s confidence in himself caused controversy several times.
Extraverted Feeling (Fe): This trait is the least developed function and is not typically used in their thought process. INTPs use this function when needed; otherwise, it is stored away. Throughout the drama, we see Cha Yohan use his Fe with his patients. This is his earnest desire to help other people by using his genius to solve their medical mysteries. This function strengthens in the drama thanks to Siyoung’s constant pushing of Yohan to open up and allow someone to help him.
JISUNG: ISFJ
Introverted Sensing (Si): From watching interviews to reality shows he has starred in, anyone can tell that Jisung is very detailed. For every role he takes, he prepares thoroughly, remembering the information he learns as he acts out his scene. ISFJs are always very observant to their environment, especially the people surrounding them. Several interviews from people close to Jisung will show that he is very attentive and observant to the needs of others. Jisung is known for having a good memory, always ready to take a stroll down memory lane. This is also a common ISFJ trait.
Extraverted Feeling (Fe): ISFJs are people persons, always serving others and trying to keep the peace. Jisung has always been known to be considerate, generous, and caring with everyone. Like a true ISFJ, Jisung has opened up about learning not to give too much of himself to please everyone. This only happens because of the deep emotional connections he feels with his coworkers, friends, and family. He is always very open about how much he loves and cares for his wife, children, and peers; he has even shed tears on television because of sweet messages sent to him from his castmates. He is an emotional sweetheart!
Introverted Thinking (Ti): ISFJs are organized planners who like routine and order. This function tends to strengthen as the ISFJ grows older. On RunningMan, we see that Jisung has a high IQ score. He is a curious thinker who loves to be intellectually challenged. Watching his first appearance on RunningMan, I can tell how much Jisung enjoyed putting the pieces together and finishing the puzzle. His Ti function has definitely strengthened.
Extraverted Intuition (Ne): Although this is the weakest function, ISFJs can definitely strengthen their Ne. When watching behind the scenes footage from his past dramas, he is always bringing up new ideas and possibilities to the director on how to make the scene better.
