sel: i’m pretty sure they’d be lying cause there’s no way she’s not making everyone nervous just by being there
Mazz: I am sure they would be too. I want to meet someone that would say that and I would prove them wrong.
sel: anyone who doesn’t get those jitters when meeting meryl streep is crazy. i mean, have you seen the woman? yeah, worth getting all sweaty and nervous for. i might be a bad actress ‘cause i’m sure she noticed i was in literal shambles, shaking, but she was so nice pretending she didn’t
Mazz: You do have a point there. If someone told me they didn't feel that way when meeting her, I am sure I wouldn't believe them. That is true. Oh, she would do that.
You have a point, I guess the whole point of retiring is to not work and running a hotel is the complete opposite of that. Why did you leave? Did you have other work, or was it more a personal decision? Tanya is a good character. I'm not very big on musicals but I can appreciate Mamma Mia, for the good music.
Exactly. Haha. I would rather be relaxing. As for why did I leave back then, I had a two children. The youngest at that point was 1, coming up to 2 years old. So I did spent more time with them. She is. I loved playing her. But I love playing Donna even more. Oh, yes. Brilliant music.
You're telling me you wouldn't want to run off to a Greek island? What would your dream retirement look like? That's almost ten years in the show! That's insane. Who did you play before Donna?
I would run off to a Greek island. I just don't think I would actually running off there to run a hotel. Maybe to live there, but not actually run a hotel. I guess you could say when it comes to the show it has been almost 10 years since I joined it. But between leaving it after that year, I wasn't working on it again until 2019. Before Donna, I played Tanya in the show.

There definitely was a brief moment where I was scared. I had no idea who it was or what their intentions were. Luckily, it was just a fan, because it could have been a lot worse. If you really did own a hotel on a Greek island, I'd be asking for booking details. It really does sound like a great way to retire, just to run off to an island. How long have you been in the stage show for?
I can imagine. I agree. It could have been a lot worse. Haha. Yeah, I can't see myself really doing that. I would go there though. It does sound like a great way, doesn't it? I was in the show for a year around 2015, but as Donna I have been in it since 2019.
sel: it’s probably cause the hair totally suits you better sel: no pressure, right? she’s such a sweetheart and was so nice to me and the entire cast and team, i’m sure she’d definitely compliment u on your take of the character. yeah, she’s on a whole different level of cool. just happy she joined us and likes to have us around. i’d be freaking out inside, but trying to play it cool if i were you and she came to see me play the character she’s kinda the face of
Mazz: I think that may the case. Haha. Mazz: Yeah, exactly. I don't want to think about it unless it actually happens. Oh, I agree. I would be freaking out inside. I know that for sure. I just hope that being an actress, I would be able to hide how much I would be freaking out.
It definitely makes you feel old when you realise. It just seems crazy. She was the daughter of a hotel worker, who thought it was a great idea to let her sneak into my room and wait for me. Sometimes I really do wonder what's going on in people's minds. Wait, are you actually doing that, or are you in Mamma Mia?
It really does. That is kind of crazy. I have no idea what I would be thinking or what I would do if that happened to me. Haha. I'm in Mamma Mia. I can pretend I do run a hotel on a Greek island, but as soon as step out the stage doors of the theatre, reality hits when its cold...and usually raining.
Today I had a very humbling experience. I am not a good driver lets just start there, I only learned about a year ago, which leads us to this morning when i had to try and parallel park my car, I reversed and pulled up , reversed and pulled up about seven times before some a man on a bike knocked on my window and offered to park the car for me, I just drove off and came back home. I am a passenger princess for life. @exposedfmstart
If I had been there, I would have done that for you. I am grateful that I don't have to do much parking when I head to work. Working in London, I just get on the underground and saves all the traffic in the city.
I saw that, the other day, Google turned twenty six. Which unfortunately means that Leonardo DiCaprio will have to find a different search engine. Google just isn't doing it for him anymore. In other news, I will be fully checking every corner of my hotel rooms from now on, after I found a random girl behind the curtain recently. Please tell me how your weekend went? Was it more fun than mine? // @exposedfmstart
I didn't even realized that Google was that age. Hang on. How did you find her there? How did she get in? My weekend has been fine. Running a hotel on a Greek island and singing and dancing. Its always fun.

sel: that’s literally so cool! maybe it’s the hair i don’t know, i just think you pull it off better! but i haven’t seen you doing either part so i’m mostly talking about appearence here. part of me knows you do it incredible if you got those two parts! sel: i totally get it because i was a wreck when i first met them. i kept worrying about where to put my hands and what i was doing with them, i was so nervous the whole time. now, i’m friends with steve and martin, but meryl is obviously on a whole different level, too good for me
Mazz: Maybe it is. I do think I am better as Donna. I had to wear a wig for Tanya and its just my hair as Donna. You probably could find some performances online of me as both. Mazz: I can imagine. I have no idea how I would react if Meryl came to see the show. I mean she would probably come backstage to meet the cast. The fact she would probably want to meet the stage version of her character...I honestly don't know. I am usually fine around famous people, as you say she is a whole different level.
sel: well lily definitely counts as donna, even if it’s young donna. she played the part so well! how interesting that you were in it before you got the part as donna. i personally think donna suits you better sel: you do? we’re really lucky to have her, i mean i was already lucky enough to be with martin and steve but meryl too? can’t get better than this
Mazz: She really does play the part so well. I know. I mean it was like in between playing Tanya and Donna that I was in the movie. You do? I mean, I get to do more songs as Donna. Mazz: I do. I can't imagine what out is like to walk with all of them. I don't even know how I would react. Lol
I've always thought it sounded incredible, it's something I really want to check out. See, that's exactly what I thought. Really, Broadway copied the West End so I really do want to see a show there. You're a seasoned professional and I'm so impressed. I would be worried I'd mess you in front of so many people, but I guess after doing it for so long, that kinds fades away. What's been your favourite show you've been a part of so far?
You should come and see a show here. There is so many shows around here. Of course I would be biased and say about coming to see Mamma Mia. I think anyone worries about that. No matter how long they have been doing it. As for what my favourite show has been, its between Mamma Mia and We Will Rock You.
sel: i‘ve recently learned you play donna sheridan and i need to know if you have ever met meryl or any other actress that has played donna throughout the years? sel: we had meryl on only murders and it was such a pinch me moment! can’t believe that even happened and she came back for season 4
@mazzmurrayfms
Mazz: I do. And I have never met Meryl 😞 I have met Lily James though because I was in a scene with her in the second Mamma Mia movie. As for the actual show I was in the show a few years before I played Donna when I played Tanya. And also when it was the 20th anniversary of the show and they brought back previous Dynamos. So I have met other Donnas. Mazz: I love that show and I love that she is in it. I may actually sit in my dressing room watching it.
What's The West End like? Is it similiar to Broadway? Because as an actor, I've obviously heard about it but my ignorant American brain has never really connected the dots and now I'm curious. Whatever it is, I know you must have balls of steel to go up on stage and perform night after night in front of a live audience. Do you ever get stage right? @mazzmurrayfms
It is amazing. But I would say that. I am biased. It is similar to Broadway. I don't know what any differences there would be besides being in a different country and there are some shows in one place that aren't in the other. Oh, I have been doing it for so long. I guess you could say that people who do that are like that. As for stage fright, I don't. There are nerves. Everyone gets them. But no stage fright.

I'm sure they had fun with their dad, even though they missed out on the trip. It's not like they were left behind bored out of their minds or something. If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend it. It's an amazing experience.
They did have fun with their father. They always find ways to stop themselves being bored. Maybe I will do that at some point then. I hope to sometime in the future.
tour kicks back up again for me in a few weeks. it's definitely been a unique gap to say the least and as much as outside lands was a nice little welcome back into the flow of things, i'm still feeling pretty much every emotion imaginable. the plan to combat that is take as much advantage as possible of what's left of the summer. anyone have any good suggestions on what to do? @exposedfmstart
I wish I had some suggestions for you. But besides the recent trip and having a few days off in the week here and there, I have been working. If anything, I think I need others to tell me what I should do when I have a longer amount of time off. I would do exactly what you are saying though with the whole taking advantage of what is left of the summer.
