I think it was based on that Cream cameo in Sonic Adventure 1 (call me a heretic but I still haven't looked at this game's story) and a headcanon that her father died during that time with Chaos. Idk why I kept remembering this for this long and I haven't done anything with it ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯
