How many works do you have on AO3? 100
What's your total AO3 word count? 2,393,745
What fandoms do you write for? The X-Files, Star Trek: TNG, SVU, Criminal Minds, NCIS, Once Upon A Time. I also used to write for Castle and Pretty Little Liars. But I finished those stories. Now Iâm down to 6 fandoms. My goal is to be a one-fandom girl because everything outside of TXF is 10+ years old and I just want to finish those to have and done with.
What are your top 5 fics by kudos? 1) If Youâve Had Beautiful Story, 2) Like The Midnight Sun, I Will Be Rising, 3) Roaming The Endless Prairie, 4) A Great Cosmic Prairie, and 5) Moon River
Do you respond to comments? Occasionally, if only to respond to someone asking a question like, âWhy did X do or say that? It doesnât make sense!!111!!â and so on when itâs chapter 1 and theyâre asking a chapter 15 type question chapter 1 or 2 and getting rude, like theyâre going to be upset if the questions arenât answered by chapter 3. I tell them to at least chill out because I donât have time for that kind of thing. And I just donât like it. Sometimes I also answer comments if theyâre from friends. Or if the comment gave me a cool idea. But overall, I donât answer comments regularly because after 15 years of publishing online and spending most of it on a different sight before migrating to AO3, it just isnât a priority. And has never been. Writing for me is about writing. Not pleasing a readerâs expectation about interaction. Unfollow me for that, but itâs whatever. Iâve been reading fanfiction since the last days of GeoCities. And I once upon a time even stumbled on Leylaâs work. So Iâve been around for a while.
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I Call For A Soft Revolution, Instead Of War. But Iâm really not into doing something like making angst my specialty. I went through that in my teens and twenties. Got bored with it. So? ICFASRIW is really my only angst-ending story out of 100.
Whatâs the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? There are too many to pick just one. Thank goodness.
Do you get hate on fics? Occasionally. But I delete them because I can. Earned my stripes on other sites a long time ago and one of the main reasons I moved to AO3 is because there is a delete button. Why keep it around if I donât want to see it?
Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Yes. But occasionally. (Iâm just not into it like I was in my teens and twenties.) I write M/F smut when it happens because Iâm boring. And old. Sorry. It also gets really awkward when people find out I write for OUAT because theyâre expecting to hear I only write smutty stuff. Yeah, no. I was there when the show aired and saw all of it but still never developed an interest in writing smut for that show because Iâm way more into the princesses. Which people find super strange, like they literally canât understand what Iâm saying. Anyway⌠gets off soap box
Do you write crossovers? Whatâs the craziest one youâve written? No.
Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not since joining AO3. I donât write in fandoms that have that kind of drama.
Have you ever had a fic translated? Not to my knowledge.
Have you ever co-written a fic before? No.
Whatâs your all time favorite ship? There are too many to count. I guess a top 10 would be Mulder and Scully, Doggett and Reyes, Red Beauty, Sleeping Warrior, Tinker Hook, Picrusher, Troi and Riker, Jemily, Han and Leia, AO
Whatâs a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I finish everything I write, even if it takes years, because I believe in myself
What are your writing strengths? I am very good at getting in their heads. But I guess thatâs what my autism hyperfocus gets me.
What are your writing weaknesses? Taking on too much. But I keep busy. There is literally always a story to write.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I donât read other peopleâs fics much anymore, unless itâs one gifted to me. But hereâs my take for including foreign language in my own: I make sure that the spelling and context is correct. But I usually keep it to one word. Then thereâs at least some written context/explanation afterward. OR, I write Character B hearing/understanding/reacting Character A if itâs a lot more than one word. This is followed up by some translation via dialogue or narration. Refining that technique took a very long time.
