The Patch's Lair

Remember last week how I said there was more to come?👀 ta da!

For @skpetals a couple of weeks ago, they did a mini event based off of festivals around the world. I chose to do Yeondeunghoe, which is done in celebration of the Buddha! The lotus lanterns are very prominent during the festival, because of their meaning, as well as Buddhism’s importance in shaman king, I thought it was fitting!

I actually had this first image sketched out back in January when I drew SanLori in hanbok for the cultural collab, and I wanted to so RenKi as well. I was waiting for this festival when petals announced their event and thought it was perfect timing!

Little sneak peak of what’s to come. 👀 After drawing SanLori in hanbok, I said I was going to do the same for RenKi! Here we are! I honestly had a lot of fun researching the clothing. The colors I went back and forth on a lot! I wanted Kiki’s scheme to be inspired by a fox. 🦊

Though I felt bad that the Bason charm on Ren’s norigae isn’t fully visable, but hopefully it still comes across! I was so tempted to give him one of those traditional hats and have his tongari poke through it, but I chickened out and didn’t want to draw it 😂

Soon or later someone would bave thought about that

Well I have a drawing I will publish later but I really hate it eventhough it took me months so I return to the daily Nichrom sketches until I finish the canvas.

Always a happy Nichrom is nice to see. Who is he greeting it could be his brother? it could be the Patch priest and his healer whom use to babysit him? Could be Magna in Rue? Could it be Ren? Or maybe Selene in other AU’s? Well that’s up to you, but here take a happy greeting Nichrom.
