“mm, i love you too. you wouldn’t have to ask where everything is if you’d clean your room yourself though,” she chuckled, letting her hands rest on his cheeks. “i don’t think we really gave ourselves enough time to get back in the swing of things, y’know? we just jumped right it. but it’s a trial and error kind of thing. i’ll try to keep my temper low key as much as i can. i’ll get a stress ball or a punching bag if i have to.” macey’s cheeks began to burn pink at the final admittance of her anger issues. they were never something she discussed out loud-but for max she would admit anything she had to in order to make them okay. “but we’re never going back there again,” she tried to joke allowing a soft kiss to plant on his cheek. “and for the record, sir. you hog the covers more than i do.”
“ like that’d ever happen. it’s way down on my priority list. “ max shook his head, letting a smile start on his lips. “ maybe both, could i watch you hit the punching bag? “ he teased. “ i know things have been intense, but i guess that’s kind of our signature thing. since when have we ever taken things slow? at this point i don’t even think i’d know how. “ max shrugged before turning his head slightly to kiss her palm. some might argue that would be a key issue, but he never thought of it that way. when people take things slow, sometimes they’re unsure, afraid. he was none of those things with macey. “ nope, never. -- hey, i do not. “ max reached to kiss the corner of her lips. “ take it back, or i’m never making out with you again. “
