TADC ending spoilers — my opinion
Ok, I had only two WOWs during the entire hour long episode
First one when Jax finally abstracted. I caught that moment right away, unlike the moment when they were all told that they were just copies of people—honestly, I had to rewatch that moment to understand why everyone was constantly crying and so depressed, lol.
when we got this Mr. Mouth back on the screen.
That's literally it. Hello.
For me, TADC has long since felt way too soppy and dramatic, with eps dragging on forever for characters to have super on-the-nose conversations where they keep chewing over exact same thing—"what if I'd it differently/I wish I could have done this/I wish I could have done that". The early eps were great, but later on, every character started feeling like the exact same emotion to me, whis is:
Like constantly. I can't be the only one noticing.
TADC ending ain't crap, ain't "the best" either. It's simply passable/mid.
The thing is it has Alice from Detroit effect. It turned out that all this time all the characters weren't real people, but copies. My empathy and concern for everyone simply turned off after this revealed fact, I dunno. I mean, what's the point of worrying if they're not real anyway? The real people are alive and well. The characters are all just a bunch of AIs that communicate with another AI.
As a screenwriter, I don't really like the narrative flow, but TADC has its share of beauty. Or at least it had (since it's considered finished for now, eh)
Something like that. But we gotta thank Gooseworx for sharing her art with us! It has definitely become a significant part of my life.
