Heading back to Brighton now after what was an unforgettable trip to the Isle of Skye for two days, the camera was put through its paces and came out well, with just one minor change needed (one of the knobs is 1mm too close to the rear of the camera when using a Polaroid 405 holder in landscape) #4x5 #largeformat

Today we are having a quick test of the camera on the Isle of Skye before we ship the first batch, it's great to get it out in the field and really put it through some tough testing. So far so good! #4x5 #largeformat

New Kickstarter Update 

Great trip to beachy head today field testing the camera, before we start the first test production run on Monday #4x5 #largeformat

Rear assembly of the camera, (all aluminium will be black apart from the name plate which will be silver with black text) We are planning to go into production at the start of next week, making at first a batch of 12 then ramping up to batches of 60 if the first 12 go well! #4x5 #largeformat

That's 900 grams if you can't quite see, we are adding a slightly more heavy duty knob to hold down the front standard, that plus the bellows should add another 100 grams, bringing the total in at 1kg. we can confidently confirm that we have lived up to the goal of designing a light weight and affordable 4x5 camera :)

How to take off the focusing screen and use a graflok compatible holder (this one is a graflex 120). Please note the ground glass here is a purchased one and not the one we are supplying #4x5 #largeformat

Our CNC router can churn out parts at quite a speed! We are currently working on programming the machine to cut 60 cameras per session this uses up 8 4ft by 8ft sheets of high quality birch ply from 6mm to 24mm and takes around 3 days. #4x5 #largeformat

Hello! Hope everyone had a nice week, it was very busy (as usual) in the workshop, so we didn't get a chance to post a more formal and detailed update on the kick starter page. Sorry about that! Some time has been set aside next Wednesday to do it, so hopefully that's ok with everyone. Il just pop these prototype pictures here in the mean time...
