“I would have preferred a bear over this guy.” Fitz mumbled in a annoyed voice. “Some guy decided he’d have fun messing with me. I guess he wanted my older brother to go after him or something.”

“So a guy mauled you and you’d rather he’d been a bear? I’m pretty sure a bear would have made sure you didn’t get to walk away alive.” Max paused, maybe that would have been better. “And did he?”

“Asshole” Tony grumbled. Normally he wouldn’t tolerate anyone hitting him. But Max was weird exception. They weren’t friends. But there was a wired respect Tony had for him. “You’re the embrassing one. You were the one yelling in the first place.”

“You’re a real prick, Stank. Maybe you should look in the mirror for a hard minute before you decide to start calling a saint like me names.” Max scoffed with a smile. “I was only yelling because you were acting like a child. I had something important to say to you, but now I don't remember what that was.”

“Please do. I’d really appreciate it.”

“So what happened to you? Did you get in a fight with a bear in the woods or something? You obviously lost that battle.”

“Maybe I’d prefer that instead.” he snapped. “I just don’t want people touching me.”

“Then I’ll be sure to keep that in mind for next time.”

“LALALA I CAN’T HEAR YOU MAX. I’M AVOIDING MY PROBLEMS.” Tony continued  plugging his ears and ignoring Max.

“No shit.” he grumbled, stepping over to where his annoying acquaintance stood before giving him a big whack to the back of the head. “You’re so embarrassing.”

“And you’re kinky? Well, didn’t I score the jackpot.” Lock grinned, licking his lips before staring intently at his roommate. “So, do you mind if I call you Maxie instead of Max? It sounds a lot cuter.”

“Keep your dick in your pants, Logan.” Max retorted, using what he had been told was an unfavorable name in response to the nickname the other wanted to give him. Max was not on board with being called Maxie by Lock, of all people, but he didn’t bother to argue it. "Whatever you want. Just don’t expect me to come up with something cute to call you in return.”

“LALALALA I can’t hear you!”

“Real mature, Stank... Real mature.”

Jessica arched a brow at him and a look of slight confusion crossed her features. “Oh? Well since I’m on my way out, maybe I can help you find the place you’re trying to get to. I’m in no rush. Where do you need to go?”

Max cringed, he didn’t want to just flat out deny assistance, but he wasn’t in the mood to come up with a convincing enough lie to tell the woman and walking away from the place he was trying to get to didn’t sound like fun at all. So with a heavy sigh, Max looked down on himself and rolled his shoulders. “This is the nurse’s office, right?”
