Gabe blushed and rolled his eyes. “Nope, not true. you’re still more romantic.” He argued, although he knew that this conversation wouldn’t get anywhere. He couldn’t understand why Matty thought that he was the more romantic one. “What? Excuse me… what?” He asked, eyes widening. Wondering if Matty had actually just said what he’d said.

rosa: my wife is at work and isn't paying attention to me so i guess we can entertain each other?

matty: is this not margot??

matty: damn sorry, she mustve changed her number

                “SO, I ACTUALLY ended up at a party in san francisco last night, with some friends from my old high school, but now i kinda regret missing halston’s. heard there was a shit ton of drama.” andy takes a puff of her cigarette as she looks at the person opposite of her. “were you there? care to share some deets? my day’s been particularly boring.”

Matty shook his head. “I’m a little too old to be going to those parties. Even though they’re probably a little more fun than the adult parties I go to.” He frowned. His boyfriend had younger siblings... maybe they’d be able to tell him where the fun parties were. “But I did hear that some wild things happened.”

Gabe shook his head as he realized how late he was. The party had started a while ago but between having to make sure his siblings were safe and trying to corral all the pets in the Abernathy house, he’d lost track of time. Once he reached the party though, he was glad to see that he wasn’t the last to show up, there was a steady stream of people coming and going. Slipping through the crowd, Gabe quickly found his boyfriend, smiling as he watched Matty notice him. “Hey babe.” He replied with a smile while shaking his head. “That’s okay, ‘m not drinking tonight but thanks.”

Matty shrugged. “You’re really missing out. This drink is amazing. I can’t taste the alcohol at all. Might I say that this bartender is better than me?” And Matty considered himself a damn good bartender; his tips would prove that. Also the amount of numbers he got from girls (and a couple guys) was a pretty good indicator too, but it probably wasn’t something he should mention to his boyfriend. “Am I the only one dressed up here?”

Had he known that the party supplied their own little masks for costumes, Matty wouldn’t have dressed up in his own. He was of course, dressed up as Jesus. When your birthday is on Christmas, you don’t really pass up any of the jokes. He ordered a drink from the bartender and sipped it, looking around for his boyfriend. The drink was amazing, not tasting of alcohol at all, and Matty downed it pretty quickly. His next drink had been drunk almost just as quick, and he had just ordered another one when Gabe finally arrived. “Finally! I’ve been waiting for you. I ordered you a drink.” It wasn’t actually for Gabe, but Matty didn’t want him to think he wasn’t always thinking of him.

aviva: well why dont you ask them to come see you at work sometime then when they're not working or busy?

aviva: if they can, of course. i forget how young people in this town are sometimes

matty: fun fact: we actually met while i was working so thatd be fun to have him visit

saffron: youtube and netflix are instant problem solvers when you have nothing to watch

saffron: idk much about dystopian shows, and i think all the comedys i can list most people have seen

saffron: but yanno... there's never a bad time to rewatch friends or some brooklyn nine-nine episodes.

matty: true

matty: yeah ive probably seen them all, but youre right.. its never a bad time to rewatch those shows

matty: and they made a TON of money, and STILL make a ton of money

saffron: i normally just watch youtube videos if i have no shows left

“Nope, it definitely is the fall song.” Gabe insisted before shaking his head. “Would it be corny for me to say you exist and that’s what makes you romantic?” Gabe paused, trying to figure out if he recognized the title, pretty sure he’d heard it but not too sure. “What’s it about? Should I be afraid?”

salem had spent the better half of his day off sitting alone at a booth for two at the local diner, waiting on a date that never showed. he sighed, turning to the nearest person, “my tinder date stood me up, i think. he was supposed to be here two hours ago, and he’s leaving me on read when i text him” he smiled sadly, “do you wanna join me? y-you don’t have to, i was just wondering.”

Matty had to admit: he felt bad for the other man. Matty had been there almost as long as him, and saw how frustrated he got his entire time there. “What an asshole. Of course I’ll join you I’ve been feeling a little alone in this table by myself.” He smiled at him, grabbed his stuff and moved to the other table. “I’m Matty.” He offered his hand to the man.
