You know when you get bored and draw yourself married to your favorite character? Yeah, I'm totally married to Bertholdt now!! :P

Me (Matthew): I'm home!

I'm so tired of fake Bertholdt and Armin fans. They always hate the other character and use the same excuse, "Armin ate Bertholdt" or "Bertholdt betrayed the scouts". SHUT UPPPP!! You can't hate the other! They are literally so similar!! I'm a huge Bertholdt fan myself but I will NEVER hate Armin for eating Bertholdt. Armin didn't choose to eat him, he was unconscious when the others were discussing who to turn into a titan. And if I remember correctly, when they told Armin afterwards what happened he felt sick and upset?? I would be too if I *not only* ATE a person but also someone I knew and [sort of] grew up with?? And not to mention that he's like THE ONLY ONE who mourns Bertholdt throughout season 4 (and that's wild because Reiner and Bertholdt were best friends). Armin literally APOLOGIZED to him. I love Armin.

Now let's talk about Bertholdt, I know y'all have probably heard this a MILLION times but he had to do the mission. He didn't have a choice. Imagine being in his situation, you're of a race that is oppressed and the only way to help your family is to try to qualify to be a warrior and inherit a titan that only gives you 13 more years to live. Imagine how severe the consequences would have been if Bertholdt or any of the other warriors spoke out against the plan to take back the founder. Bertholdt was only going through with it because he HAD to. He had to protect his family and himself. He didn't mean to get close with the scouts, and he surely didn't mean to hurt them [emotionally]. And if you still don't care, the warriors were only TEN when they did their first attack. Ten years old. I cannot IMAGINE my youngest sister being forced to do something like this (as she is the same age). I have so much sympathy for all these characters.

Final notes:

I'm glad it was Armin who ate Bertholdt. And relating to the *long* discussion of "should it have been Erwin?", I am 100% sure that Armin was the right choice. Not only were his dreams a lot bigger than Erwin's (whose dreams were only to see the truth of the titans in Eren's basement), he also had genuine compassion and felt bad about Bertholdt's death. If it had been Erwin, I'm sure he would not have apologized to Bertholdt. Some of y'all will probably say "who cares??" I CARE. As a hardcore fan of Bertholdt, I CARE. It means the world to me that Armin acknowledged Bertholdt and his memories.
