Holding on to something as superficial as the words “I’ll never leave you” or “I’ll always be here for you” will kill you in the end. Darling, you know better. Nobody stays that long. Everything is temporary.

I really hope you think of me and your chest tightens and you get a lump in your throat and even if just for a moment, you feel regret.

We have to learn to be our own best friends because we fall too easily into the trap of being our own worst enemies.
