Matías

A soft chuckle emitted from the South African’s lips as sparkling hues eyed him in amusement, “Long enough to hear your singing chops. Brava, brava!” Rory gushed as she applauded playfully, “Encore!”

Matías shook his head at the girl's reaction, but a laugh soon followed. A little bit embarrassed that she caught him singing. "I guess The Voice is the next step, huh?" He joked.

Usually Tilly would have ignored Matias, just went along with her day happily being unaware of his existence, or maybe she would have heard the singing and taken a snapchat video if it happened to be a little off-key. However upon hearing the actual song she swiftly turned on her heel to face the boy. Coincidentally she had turned in sync with him, giving her the opportunity to immediately reach for the earphones and pull them harshly from his ears. She didn’t answer his question instead moving on to give somewhat of an explanation for her action, “Just stop. That is literally my grandmother’s favourite song. Do you know how many times I’ve had to listen to her karaoke rendition? Too many.”

"Jeez, no need to ruin my earphones," Matías said when the girl pulled them out his ears. He picked them up from the ground quickly so that no one would step on them. "Uhm," the boy furrowed his eyebrows, not sure how to reply to her confession. "Do you think she would invite me?" He finally asked before a chuckle escaped his lips.

Given her petite size, it was no surprise when Matías picked her up off the floor while in the embrace. It happened fairly regularly. Most of her hugs were the sort that required the other person to pick her up, even slightly, in order to make the height difference not as awkward. “When did you get back?” She inquired, glancing up at him with longing eyes as she spoke. She had been surprised he hadn’t texted or called her to let him know he was back; but maybe he’d simply wanted to surprise her by stopping by. And if that had been the case, it worked.

Matías made sure Tessa's feet touched the ground before he loosened his grip on her. "This morning. I haven't unpacked yet. I had to see you first." He told her honestly as he flashed her a warm smile. He leaned in to place a peck on her lips before showing the girl the movie he brought. "Up for a Lilo & Stitch Marathon?"

Cleo was walking in the halls, minding her own business when she heard the boy quietly singing to himself. She jumped slightly too when he turned around. “Sorry. I heard you and I stopped in awe. I had to go see that movie alone because no one, no even my brothers would come watch it with me.” She said and smiled at the boy. 

Matías took his earphones out to listen to the girl. A smile on his lips as he nodded along with her words. "God, I feel you. I had to see it alone, too." He chuckled. Matías didn't understand why not many people wanted to see Mamma Mia. The story & soundtrack were amazing. "What was your favourite performance?"

jaime had been so on edge lately that even someone who was a friend just set him off really. it didn’t make him feel better though, it being someone he knew. “oh, it’s fine,” he muttered with a shrug of his shoulders, “i mean, it’s going? nothing new, or special happening.” 

Matías sat down as he listened to Jaime. He sure didn't seem fine. "I came back after a month, and you say nothing special is happening?" The boy joked as a lighthearted laugh escaped his lips. "We've to do something fun, man."

“   long  enough  to  realize  how  comically  off – key  you  sound  right  now,   ”   daphne  told,  slamming  her  own  locker  shut.   “   i  wouldn't  sing  so  loudly,  if  i  were  you.  someone  might  think  there  was  a  cat  dying  nearby.   ”

Matías raised his eyebrows at the girl. Rude, he thought to himself but decided not to comment too much on it. "I don't care about other people's opinion." He said with a nonchalant shrug before he continued to sing Fernando.

Darby was still trying to work her way around the new school, honestly why did they decide she’d be one of the last few students to be transferred? It seemed like everyone else had found their spot and she no longer had nothing. Stopping when she heard someone singing, a happy smirk falling upon her features as she leaned against the locker and continued to listen to the male singing. “No, please continue.” She said as she gave him a bow and a small clap. “I was truly enjoying your audition for America Doesn’t Have Talent.”

"That sure sounds like a show I can win." Matías joked along despite making fun of himself. "Do you want to hear more or was that all you were going to say?"

“Long enough to find out you enjoy Abba. No judgement on my part though. I will Voulez Vous to the grave.”

"Abba & Mamma Mia are my two guilty pleasures." The boy admitted with a chuckle. "Oh, I see. Another Abba fan. How about Mamma Mia? Did you see the movie?"

“Long enough to know you should never audition for the drama or glee clubs.” Of course Spencer had recognized the song almost immediately. She wouldn’t admit it out loud; but she actually did like Mamma Mia and the music of ABBA. She had her late Oma to thank for that. 

"Even if I could sing I would never join one of those clubs. So, no worries." Matias admitted with a nonchalant shrug before letting out a chuckle. "One of those clubs should do a Mamma Mia performance though."

“Long enough to know your taste in music is shit,” the girl answered, “and you’re blocking my locker.” Nani hadn’t been in the greatest of moods lately so her attitude wasn’t at all geared specifically toward the male as much as it was toward the general public. Her eyebrow lifted, “So could you like move or…?”

The boy raised his eyebrows at her, definitely hadn't expected the girl’s unnecessary comment. "Jeez, who lit the fuse on your tampon?" Matías asked before he stepped aside, so he wasn't blocking her locker.

It had been tough for Tessa while Matías was away. The two had just had their first real date; and then he left. It hadn’t been fair; but they made the distance work. They had Skype and email. It just wasn’t the same. She knew he was gonna be coming back to Wisconsin at some point within the next week; but she wasn’t sure the exact date. So when the doorbell rang and it was him standing in the doorway, the widest smile in quite some time found its way to her face. “Matías!” She exclaimed, going up on her tiptoes as she threw her arms around him. He was quite the welcomed surprise.

A huge smile appeared on the boy's face when his eyes met Tessa's. "Hey, babe," Matías chuckled as he hitched her off the floor, arms around her waist. "God, I've missed you." He admitted. It had been way too long since he had seen her. To be honest, Matías didn't know he was going to miss her this much. It sure took him by surprise, but it also confirmed his feelings for her.
