Why?

I have been meaning to ask about her dynamic with Tejo. Is it enemies to friends to lovers. Or toxic codependency. Or slow burn ? I mean, Peregrine doesn't look like someone who'd fall head over heals for some random ass. But it's Tejo we are talking about. In your previous posts about her past, you mentioned Peregrine sticking with Tejo because he reminds her of her late caretaker. But we also know that Tejo really does get on her nerves, which, idk if it's something that her caretaker would have done.

So your concept of Tejo is a bit diverging from the Canon version, I guess? Because Canon Tejo is all business and quick quips with some pleasantries here and there. Plus, Tejo is working with Radiants like waylay and veto for a long time, which, I think, Peregrine doesnt approve of. (Of course, Canon Tejo can be perceived with different perspectives. Mine is obviously different than yours ヽ(・ω・)ノ)

Hello! Thank you for the ask, and I am more than happy that you like Peregrine. Soooo, let me clarify some things! Peregrine and Tejo are not really in a relationship, but they slowly grow closer to that later. From the start, they were just getting on each other like little kids. I like to think that Peregrine's unhinged attitude cracked through his composure, which bothers him more than anything. Over time, he relaxes a bit into the chaos and leans in to give Peregrine back her own medicine. That, of course, spurs her on with her shenanigans. They warm up to each other slowly as Tejo gets little glimpses of the person beneath the bravado. So, yeah, slow burn ahha. About Peregrine's caretaker, he was basically Peregrine. The attitude, the arrogance, everything. Peri was a rather quiet kid when he found her. If you are familiar with the "copycat syndrome", you should have a clear picture of what happened to Peregrine over the years in his care. She tried her best to be the perfect pupil/daughter to the guy, so copying him and his approval of it felt like THE option. Sadly, he became a hyperfixation for her. That picture of him in Peri's head became reality for her, and she tried her best to be just like him. No matter what. Spoilers to the story below

It is a bit complicated. I first thought about Breach or Brimstone. Brimstone because I used to main him and Breach because they just have better chemistry. But! She "ended up" in a situationship with Tejo due to his looks first. Not that she would find him attractive, Peri is complicated when it comes to that, and she doesn't give a damn about attractiveness if it's not a lady (yeah, she loves ladies so Tejo is a bit of an odd pick)

And Peregrine looks very different of the common val ocs/yumme that people does (Mines count on the list af), love to read and see more art about her, does she have powers or use tech??

Hello hello, firstly, your art is gorgeous too and I adore how goofy you make your characters. Seriously, keep it up!

And about Peregrine:

She is just a human. I have a plan to release her abilities fully as soon as I'm done with my current project.

But! Let me talk about her for a bit as I could ramble for hours when it comes to her ehhe.

Peregrine is a sentinel character. I know she looks like someone who wants to be in the fray of the battle and make as much damage as possible (and as loud as possible) , but I figured she would play a little dirty. SO LEMME START HUHUHU.

I am not gonna label the abilities as Q, E, C and X as I myself use different key binds and get confused lol

Ability 1: Corrosive mines

- An ability that you can throw. It activates upon enemy stepping on it. When activated, the mines release a corrosive non - hollow cone of smoke that supresses abilities and applicates the status "Corrosion", which makes you lose double the amount of ammo when shooting inside the smoke.

Ability 2: Link Ping

- 2 small devices that can be placed on walls and ground. Upon activation, they release a revealing pulse. Despite having 2, Peregrine is able to activate only one at a time. The magic happens when the devices are in a line of sight to one and other (and in range of course). The reveal pulse can activate the other device, so Peregrine can reveal for example whole A site + heaven on the map Ascent. The only downside to this is that the devices are visible to enemies, so she has to be very careful where she places them.

Ability 3 - Bouncer

- A throwable that benefits the best in tight spaces. Peregrine basically throws a bouncing ball that concusses every single time it touches a surface. The area of it is really small though and the number of bounces is limited to 5.

Ultimate ability - Uno reverse

- Peregrine releases a radianite-powered EMP pulse from her choker, additionally from her ability "Link ping" if it is in range of her. The pulse cause all nearby placed enemy utility to seek out the nearest enemy and concuss them. It works with drones too, but they have to be in use. The more utility she hits, the more enemies are gonna be sought out.

I wanted to make a whole post about this later, but I guess I can share. The first drafts of Peregrine were named "Flow". This was before Harbor was released. You guessed it, she was a radiant with water abilities. This picture was posted here in 2021. She was supposed to be a controller

In 2022, a year later, I came up with another draft for my OC and ended up naming her "Papilon," thanks to @marislittleworld, who suggested it in our conversation. She was still supposed to be a controller, but I scrapped her as soon as Clove came out. Picture bellow is the only one i have left.

Then there was nothing for 2 whole years before I came up with another agent OC that I didn't post anywhere at all. Her name was "Photon", and of course, she was a light-based radiant duelist. In hindsight, the similarities to Neon are too much. But that didn't matter as Waylay came out right after I finished this draft. You don't even know how pissed I was ahaah.

And now, 2026. The year when Peregrine finally came to be. The only thing of her 1st design I have is this. I did not like the gloves, and the fur around her collar was difficult to sculpt in 3D with my newbie skills lol. I will add how horrible it looked.

And of course, we have her newest and current design. But you´ve all seen that already hehe.
