          ‘ mulan and stitch would be welcome. but shrek kicking down my door when i’m jetlagged ? now that would be a true smack down there. ’     he grinned as he rubbed the sleep away from his eyes, grabbing the cup.     ‘ man -- you are the absolute best. ’     he grinned, happy that he finally had some coffee.     ‘ sure thing. it’s not like i have much to do around here. any ideas or ? ’

          squinting his eyes harder, and especially after she spoke again, mateo finally realised where he had recognized her from. his expression changing with the knowledge that he accidentally found his betrothed -- who he had already known, technically --, the spanish prince tipped his head, grin growing wider. now, this was interesting.     ‘ sure it’s been, ’     he exclaimed, throwing his hands up, though his tone was light.     ‘ i haven’t seen you in like -- i guess, seven years ? no ? ’

          ‘ a servant. murderer. shrek. ’     he counted groggily, rubbing sleep off his eyes as he sat up to take a better look at his friend.     ‘ oh good - it’s you. ’     he grinned before slipping to the edge of the bed.     ‘ if we are going anywhere, i’ll need coffee first. ’

           ‘ and that’s a crime, man -- you had the best teacher. ’     which was mateo himself, of course. slapping his hand away playfully with a chuckle, the spanish prince sat up.     ‘ hola, el que no habla español. ’

          ‘ i mean, it’s a spider -- she can just run, right ? ’     he asked, a confused look on his face as he watched her fetch the spider.     ‘ i’m surprised someone for once isn’t whipping out the flamethrower at the sight of a spider. ’ 

mateo: and no it must be, as the great christina perri says, bc of the ice inside your soul

mateo: jokes aside since you arrived first now you gotta give me the run down of this place

mateo: of course. you should've known from the climate change???

mateo: guess who's in the house now?

          having just arrived, mateo had found his room clumsily, still under the affect of jetlag before he quickly undressed down to his underwear and crashed onto the bed. he was out cold, snoring loudly until he was startled awake by something -- or rather, by someone, as he’d find out now. looking at the person with only one eye open, the spanish prince had an expression of pure confusion.     ‘ que es eso ? ’

          looking at the woman who was seemingly after a spider -- a cute little one at that, as she claimed, mateo raised a brow.     ‘ what exactly are you gonna do with a ... spider ? ’ 

          turning around to look at the woman talking to him in the lounge area, mateo pursed his lips in thought.     ‘ big fish eat the small fish -- i guess that’s just the ... circle of life, for us. ’     he said with a proud grin on his reference, sheepishly shrugging. then, after a better look at her, the feeling of familiarity emerged, causing the spanish prince to squint his eyes and force his memory quietly.
