Oh, If I Could Kidnap That Feeling

I'm still shocked that the past two nights have resulted in bloodshed mere miles from me. I thought the events of Friday night were bad enough, but watching everything unfold as the shooting occurred was terrifying. Waking up to find that almost three times the amount of people reported injured last night were now dead was sickening just. I'm ashamed to have learned that the hate filled scum is from my hometown. In a world filled with violence, I am never surprised by these events, but that all changes when it occurs in the city I call home; I can actually feel the pain and mourning within our community. I am grateful that none of my friends were hurt, but saddened that you don't have to go very far down the line to find someone who lost a friend (we have a friend who lost at least four friends last night). That said, for how disappointed I am in humanity due to this horrible thing, the shear response of the Orlando community through blood and supply donations along with support of the entire community makes me proud to call this great city my home.
