So much going on I recently moved my work studio one floor down on the same building. Im tucked away in a hidden spot. I love the vintage green carpet. Lots of work to complete and a series to construct. Started sketching in a portrait of my Grandpa Stanley on a 30 year old baking pan. He started 4 Sisters Bakery on Maui in the early 80s and was an apprentice to old Spanish baking masters in Manila. This is a route in my art I have never taken as I explore the surface and content only to find out further about my grandpas story.

"WOVEN INTERCONNECTIONS" 20 in. x 20 in. Woodblock Relief Print of a young Lauhala tree found atop the ridges towards Makaiwa Bay. The Spiralinv and weaving of the tree recalls its they are most commonly used for such as mats, pillows, cordage, and hats. It is as if the young tree knows it is to be woven and connected to us at a level even beyond its survival. I mounted and float- framed the 1st print on a repurposed and refurbished frame gifted to me by my good friends Ran and Rod (Mahalo braddah🤙🏾s) who acquired them from the hotel industry. Tourism and travel is the so-called driving force of Hawaii's economy just as the Lauhala was a key component of ancient Hawaii's economics.
