Strategic Internet Public Relations
Ethics, Century of Self, Crisis and PR Foundations
Week one of this course was overwhelming. On the one hand, I felt ready to dive into Public Relation and explore all its practices involved; but there's also that level of anxiety when working through Week 1 talking about ethics (and potential crisis), foundations & institutions in our society today- making me realize how little knowledge we actually have surrounding public relations process itself!
PR Goals, Tactics, Measurement and Press Release 101
The second week of this class was great! I learned how to correctly dissect a press release and enhance my ability to take my brand strategy even further.
Learning the ins and outs of what makes up press releases, including how to measure my success! Will take my skill level up a notch. Being able to curate press for a brand is one of the most effective tools in any marketerâs tool box.
Internal PR and Distribution Strategies
Internal PR is the process of promoting and managing the reputation of an organization within its own walls. While external PR focuses on building relationships with external audiences, internal PR is all about fostering a positive workplace culture and ensuring that employees are engaged and committed to the organization's mission.
There are many benefits of internal PR, but one of the most important is that it can help to ensure that your organization's message is consistent and cohesive. A strong internal communications strategy can help to ensure that everyone from senior leadership to front-line employees is on the same page, which can be critical for building a successful brand. Internal PR can also help to build employee morale and engagement, which can lead to improved retention rates. Finally, internal PR can be an important part of crisis management, as it can help to ensure that employees are equipped with the facts and armed with the right messaging in the event of a negative news cycle. When done well, internal PR can be an invaluable asset for any organization.
Creating a distribution strategy can be a difficult but rewarding process. In my case, I had some struggles in working through my plan, but I appreciated the process nonetheless. The first step is to identify your goals. What are you trying to achieve with your distribution strategy? Once you know your goals, you can start to develop a plan of action. What channels will you use to distribute your product or service? Will you use traditional channels, such as brick-and-mortar stores or direct mail, or will you focus on digital channels, such as online retailers or social media? Once you've identified your channels, you need to determine how you will reach your target audience. What marketing and advertising tactics will you use? And finally, you need to establish a system for tracking and measuring your results. By taking the time to create a well-designed distribution strategy, you can ensure that your product or service reaches its full potential.
PR writing, Mastery Reflection and Crisis Communication
PR writing is an essential skill for any marketer or public relations specialist. The ability to craft a well-written press release can mean the difference between success and failure. However, it's not enough to simply write a press release; the goal is to create a piece that will sell itself. This means understanding the needs of your audience and crafting a message that resonates. It also requires an understanding of the art of persuasion, as you'll need to convince your audience that your product or service is worth their time and attention. By following these tips, you'll be well on your way to becoming a master of PR writing.
PR crisis can often feel like a daunting task. However, by looking at other brands and how they have handled their crises, you can develop a strategy of your own. This will help you to communicate effectively during a crisis situation.
As I am working on the last pieces of my crisis presentation, I hope that I am able to effectively deliver my message while also keeping the company I am speaking for in a positive light so that they can come out on the other side of the issue successful.
