For example, when a toddler who has gone through successful sleep training reverts back to past misbehavior bc there has been some sort of upheaval like a new sibling being born. And it can include situations of trauma, but none of the children who experience this are pretending to be younger; they are just testing boundaries bc that's what kids do in unstable environments.
