If you’re asking questions about the way people feel about you (for example: “why don’t you hang out with my anymore?” / “why don’t you talk to me as much”)

You have to be okay with any answer they give. You can ask questions, you can be hurt, you can be confused, but you don’t get to complain because someone answered the question you asked.

Example:

“Are we friends?”

“No, not really.”

The only real appropriate answer to this is: “Okay, fair enough.” And optionally “Can I ask if there’s a reason? / is it something I did or just that we’re not that close?”

You aren’t entitled to anybody’s friendship, affection, or respect beyond the basic human decency.

You aren’t entitled to people walking on eggshells around you afraid to hurt your feelings. If you ask a question, be prepared for an answer. If you foster honesty and transparency in your friend groups, it’ll be for the better for everyone involved.
