Tea for Golden Boy || Self-Para
8AM, he was supposed to meet with Brendan Monday, the Auror who had sent him the letter concerning his rotation. And to be quite frank, Mason was less than excited to meet the man. With comments like not even wanting them on the same case as him, he couldnât say that he was particularly pleased to be placed under the other manâs supervision.
As he walked towards the Auror Division, he thought about what he knew about the âGolden Boyâ. He was one of the top Aurors around, with a personality to match it, Mason assumed. He had always been mildly interested in what Aurors did when there wasnât a big case where they were chasing after âthe bad guysâ, but the letter he had received had dropped his interest level dramatically.
Using his W.A.S.P. card, he made his way through the certain security gates, eventually getting his way to Level Two and the Auror offices. Auror Monday stood there, arms crossed, and suddenly, Mason felt a bit like a seventeen year old Hogwarts school boy again, even though he had a sneaking suspicion that he might be older than his supervisior.
"Youâre five minutes late," Monday growled, lifting the hand that his watch was strapped on to. "Just get in my office and we can get this over with." Yep, Mason definitely felt like a school boy in trouble.
Sitting down, Mason didnât feel comfortable at all. The chair was stiff, and Monday was staring him down. âLike I said in the letter, I donât want you here." Mondayâs grim demeanour made the statement sound angrier that he had probably meant it. Mason guessed that he had meant it from a perspective of not wanting his job messed up, but come on. Mason had already come to the conclusion that if he was sent to pick up food or drink for his superior, he would try and find a way to get a calming draught into the mix.
Across the table, arms folded, Brendan Monday sat back in his chair. âBecause Blishwick actually got here on time, like I asked, sheâs doing some useful work that she would probably consider interesting.â The other manâs voice was already beginning to grate on Masonâs nerves, especially with the haughty tone it was starting to take on. It took Mason gritting his teeth to remember that this man was technically higher up in ranking than him, and decking him might not be the best thing.
"You on the other hand," Monday broke out into a grin, which made Mason squirm in his seat a bit, a grand achievement for anyone to be able to do. "You will be fetching me tea. Pronto." With a quick dismissal of the hand, Mason left the small office.
As the door magicked shut behind him, he sighed to himself. âBet he wouldnât act this way if Harry Potter was still aroundâŚâ He had remembered the quick reminder that Jed Ashwinder had given him as he started the rotation, and Mason would be quick to admit he was more interested in that little side-note than the actual case. In all seriousness, Auror Brendan Monday was the only person that Mason could name off the top of his head who did not like Harry Potter.
It was a short trip to the kitchen area that all the Aurors used, but Mason kept his thoughts switching between the case and his pain in the arse supervisor. Finding himself face to face with the kettle, he figured he may as well just do as he was told for the time being. Wand out, he charmed the water to a boil.
