The Vital Vitriol

Standing near yet another set of flasks, beakers, and more was the big oaf, Petey, or as Plague dubbed him, ‘Perty’, himself. He wore a small green hood that resembled those of the alchemist’s underlings that had been given to him as a symbol of their partnership. In fact, it actually was a hood that had been torn off from one since it was the only part of the uniform that “fit” him. Even then, it was comically small, looking like a soft, droopy party hat that rested atop his bulbous head than a hood. 

The plant had been standing there for a good while now, staring at all the colorful, but mysterious contents of each container. Despite what happened the last time he ingested one of these tantalizing concoctions, thoughts of drinking another one were still not out of the question. How could anyone blame him, though? They were so colorful, so there must have been plenty of tasty flavors! Just guessing what said flavors might taste like wasn’t enough for him! The fun-shaped appearance the glasses possessed weren’t helping either. If anything, they added even more to the appeal! 

Just as a leaf reached out to grab a flask on an impulse, Petey paused for a moment. Realizing something, his head turned turned to one side, then to the other to. He had to check if anybody was watching him, since he’d been told countless times after the first incident to not taste anything. Even the other people who wore masks like Plague Knight, were ordered to keep an eye on him from time to time, so to not get caught the plant made sure they weren’t around either. As far as the plant knew, Plague was busy messing with other pretty-looking drinks and stuff, so he didn’t think he would have to worry about getting caught by the cloaked knight. 

There were no sounds of Petey's foot steps for a while. He assumed the large plant life had been following him this whole time. Plague Knight knew better than to leave him unsupervised for too long in the place. He looked around and not too far, he saw a large plant-like figure holding a brightly colored potion. Oh dear, was that...?

"Perty!"

With quick reflexes, Plague Knight put his book in one sleeve and reached into his other sleeve. He then threw one of his filled flasks to the ground that would make him vanish in a green poof and reappear right in front of the large piranha plant. With a quick swing of his bird staff, Plague Knight managed to knock the dangerous concoction out of the leafy grasp of Perty Petey. As it shattered and spilled to the ground, smoke started to form above it as it dissolved the floor below it.

"...Phew... Perty! What have I told you about putting things in your mouth? You should ask me or the minions first!"

At least it wasn't consumed, boy that would have gone bad! A huffed sound of relief escaped his green bird mask. Plague Knight then recollected himself and took out the book from his long sleeve. He opened it to some pages, searching for a certain page.
